    „Retreat“ is a rip-off

    rating27 Dec 2019

We paid 250 RM a Night for a room without a Window far away from the City centre. No Shops around to Buy water or a snack, only Workshops and garages for Miles, Next to residential Zones. The „retreat“ Faces a Wild Garbage disposal and Some wrecked Cars. Restaurants nearby close After lunch. No points of touristic interest nearby but many mosquitos around. Not Even a television in the room as advertised. The „nice Design“ consists of nothing But painted Concrete Walls. The room is Hot, tropical climate. The housekeeper is nice but doesn‘t speak English or knows the area at all. The Management was Not helpful and only Tries to lure tourists inside. Don‘t stay here, this is not worth your while or your Money and nothing But a total top-off.

Great Value (Though its not the best option if you don't drive)

We paid RM 367 for two nights in The Palm T. room and I think it was quite worth it! :) The room is quaint and slightly small. Do bear in mind, there is only one window that opens up to the common area, so if you are strongly claustrophobic this room may not have been the best choice. However, we really enjoyed the huge wooden bath tub and I think this is the highlight of the trip haha. However, the water heater switch is located within the common area, and sometimes other guest may have the tendency to switch it off, as it is unsuspecting. Hence, we would actually have to switch it back on and wait 30 minutes before we can take a hot bath. This is my second time staying here and I opt not to get breakfast, as it was only a simple home cooked meal. I would strongly suggest grabbing breakfast at Ipoh's kopitiam. I wouldn't suggest staying here if you do not have a car, as the area is situated in the middle of the housing area (a part of their charm). Neverthless, they have ample space for parking. The guy who was stationed there was really friendly.

    Ipoh stopover

    rating17 Feb 2017

The ambience and accomodation were comfortable. However, the location was not the best as it was in a residential area and access to shops etc was difficult. The breakfast was very ordinary.I believe they have another property in the City centre which may have met my requirements more fully. This property is not value for money.

    So quaint, but small rooms

    rating25 Dec 2016

The ambience of this hotel is so trendy and quaint and the staff is friendly and helpful. The wood is beautiful and the rooms uniquely decorated. The mattress was so uncomfortable and the walls so thin that I wouldn't stay there again, although I really did like it. The rooms are very small, but perfect if you are just using them for sleeping.
