  Is this a 5 star hotel? No. Is this hotel a great value and newly renovated? Yes!Booked this property through capital one to use up my travel credit. I had read some not so great reviews but since learning the hotel had been recently renovated(I think they are still working on it), we decided to go for it. The location is not bad. It’s about 2km from the very center of town. The malecon (boardwalk) goes by the hotel so you could easily walk, bike, rollerblade into town. Upon check in we were upgraded (Bonvoy member). With the superior room. We had a queen bed and fold down sofa bed(no bars or springs) We also had a kitchenette area with sink,fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. I will add that while there is no closet, there is a hanging bar, a wall mounted shelf, several hanging hooks and abundant counter/ desk space. We had 3 people in the room and we had enough room for all of our stuff. The bathroom sink seemed a little dated, but the shower and toilet were new and seemed to be water saving models. We could see the ocean but we could also see all the cast offs from the renovation job. The pool is nice Nd even the umbrellas are new. Breakfast is included and consisted of:2 types of fresh fruit that changed daily2 types of cheeseSliced ham and turkeyCorn flakes and Frosted FlakesPlain and strawberry yogurt Cottage cheese Assorted bread and pastries Scrambled eggsRefried beansFresh salsaTortilla chipsCheese , cream, cilantro and onions They also had brewed coffee as well as a machine to make espresso. For the ~$150/night this really is a solid hotel and leaves you lots of money for other fun stuff on your vacation.

  Where do I begin? Hotel was under construction. We did have a water view but the window was small. Room was tiny and ac was very low so it took several hours to cool off. No fan in bathroom. Beds were hard but pillows ok. Not all lights worked. Free breakfast was barely adequate but the coffee was great! I recommend staying at a local hotel. Not good for the price.   Don’t stay at City Express

  The Hotel had very little amenities. The room was very small, no decor. Depressing. The Gym was pathetic and the area was not good. No where to walk to.Next time I’m staying closer to town. I also recommend Tres Virgenes restaurant in town. Also recommend going to Balandra beach early as they have a quota. We went there too late and couldn’t get in. Tecolate beach is nice as they have amenities there. The water is fantastic.   This hotel it’s absolutely horrible, we booked a room, got a confirmation for a reservation and when we showed up they said they were full and couldn’t accommodate us! Horrible manager and all the front desk employees!   Worst hotel in la Paz

  The place is terrible, I stayed for 3 night and had to abandon the 4 night that was prepaid. And the other 2 nights were because there were no options. Place is dirty, very poor management, AC units broken, the towels were almost black. Abusive on food pricing, they run out of meat and veggies and still charging full pricing because people had no options during the storm. Terrible experience.
