    No consistently functioning internet, which staff knows, but acts like it's an anomaly. Can't work or do calls here if that's important to you. Rooms are ok but old.

    We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed it. The rooms are larger than average for an older hotel and the public spaces are lovely. It has a convenient location a couple of blocks from Alameda park. The hotel offers a nice buffet breakfast, or you can stop at the nearby Casa Barista, a charming little cafe on the same street (along the way to Alameda). We will definitely stay at the Metropol again.

    The second time i've stayed here and the fourth time my friend has. Great place as long as you're aware of and accept some of their little quirks. The cheaper the room, the less updated it is. No micro, no fridge, no coffee maker. Take your own hairdryer. Although they have one, it shuts off every minute or so to cool off. Be aware that every time you leave the hotel with your key, it deactivates. Two options, have them reactivate when you return or leave at the front desk. Don't bother with the coffee at the hotel. Run around the corner to 7-11 or the other cool cafeterias nearby. Beds and pillows are amply comfortable. Hotel staff are amazing and accommodating. Everything is squeaky clean! The location can't be beat. Just far enough away to be quiet and cozy yet so close to the good stuff. And the price is perfect. Highly recommend!!!

    The hotel is clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and a nice large shower. There is no air conditioning, so it felt very warm in the room. There is a fan but air conditioning would have been good.The hotel is in a good location to walk to the old town.

    They give only one key per room despite you book a room for a group of friends. If you don't have the key they will make you wait until your friend with the key arrives even when they saw you leaving, and your passport is inside the room... we wait in the lobby after midnight.
