    Great visit

    rating10 Jun 2026

Went here at half term and had a great first time in Morocco. The hotel is a mixed bag. The general look is good, tho odd bits are outdated like the sign outside. The hotel is close to the beach which is clean and appealing, with blocked paved wide walkways. The rooms are of a good standard and cleaned every day with a bottle of water left, there is a free safe as well as adequate storage. We had a family room which was slightly cramped otherwise it was good. I didnt experience much noise apart from doors slamming on changeovers. The service was quite good, most waiters cleared tables quite quickly and provided you with a drink. However the downside is the lack of 'family' tables,it catered mainly for 2 people. Watch out for the birds flying around(maybe management could do with looking at this) another fault is lack of cutlery, but ask your waiter and you shall receive. At busy times, crockery can be abit lacking. The food tho is a really good point, its a high standard ranging from bbq chicken to the likes of beef wellington, rib eye steak. The animation team was around the site, but I didnt feel animated to join in,the pool is a good size and deeper than some pools ive been in. The beds are fairly comfy tho at times you can struggle to get a bed. Overall a good experience

    Relaxing

    rating08 Jun 2026

On last day of a week's holiday here ( was here in Oct/Nov last year) Arrived at 12 room wasn't ready till 2.30 also had this problem last year when we had booked the premium package. The hotel has apparently been taken over since our last visit. Some of the staff are rude but the others make up for it. Room is nice , clean and spacious. Food is terrific with some of the Morrican dishes very tasty indeed. Beach very close by as are shops and restaurants. Spent most days on the beach as being an old fuddy duddy the music are the pool wasn't for me but those around the pool seemed to like it. Drinks are ok and have discovered a fondness for pastis ( pernod) Weather hasn't been great this week but the sun did appear most afternoons. All in all a quiet relaxing week Guest Relation Les dunes d'or, Guest Services / Front Office at Dunes D'or Ocean Club, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your feedback following your return visit to Les Dunes d'Or Ocean Club.We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed a relaxing holiday overall and appreciated our spacious rooms, the cleanliness of the hotel, our beachfront location, and especially the variety of food on offer, including the Moroccan specialties. It is also wonderful to know that you were able to enjoy the beach and make the most of your stay despite the mixed weather. We sincerely apologize for the delay in the availability of your room upon arrival and regret that this affected both of your visits. We also take note of your comments regarding staff interactions, as providing a warm and welcoming service to every guest remains one of our priorities.Your feedback is valuable and helps us continue improving the guest experience. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again for another relaxing stay by the ocean.

A great holiday and would definitely go back

We had a lovely room overlooking the ocean. Breakfast and lunch were fine in hotel but we ate out every evening as dining room had a bit of a canteen feel about it, not a lot of ambience. Pool area nice and we took advantage of the sun beds with canopies on the sea front for which there was an extra charge Guest Relation Les dunes d'or, Guest Services / Front Office at Dunes D'or Ocean Club, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your experience. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay, particularly your room with its beautiful ocean view and our pool area. It's also great to know that you were able to relax and make the most of the seafront sunbeds. We appreciate your feedback regarding the atmosphere in the main restaurant. Your comments are valuable and help us identify areas where we can continue to improve the overall guest experience. We would be delighted to welcome you back to Les Dunes d'Or Ocean Club for another enjoyable holiday by the sea.

Ok, where to begin?! Family trip, 2 adults 2 teens; made up of me/mum and my 3 children. Due to our flight times we didn't arrive until after 22.30, check in was simple enough, some paperwork, pay the tourist tax, key cards and then we were helped to our rooms. We'd booked 2 separate rooms, requesting they be closed together.. my room with one teen was on 1st floor, but then the next room was up another flight of stairs and on the other side of the building... By this time it was late, no-one was keen to kick up a fuss, but in hindsight, I wasn't overly happy that I was so far away from my other 2 kids (although one is an adult, still...) but, pick your battles, right? Anyway. Thanks to previous reviews we had packed pot noodles, knowing there would be no food/drink available at that time of night... Could not, however, source forks! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Tried at the bar, they told us they were closed, asked for help, noone was interested, so I ultimately went into the closed restaurant and borrowed 4 forks so we could at least eat. Went via reception to get spare room cards as we'd only been given 1 per room... Room was lovely, we rearranged slightly as the beds were together, but beautiful rooms... Kettle, mini fridge, water, couple tea bags/coffee stuff (no milk). Air con, balcony, soaps etc in bathroom, towels, plenty lights... Nice room... (Any card will fit in the power/cars thingy btw)Huge restaurant buffet in morning 7am to 10am I think. Tiny struggle finding a seat but a friendly waiter got us seated and we dove in! Cereals, breads, cooked eggs, salads, yogurts, juices (fresh and dispensed), most everything covered!Loads of sun beds dotted around the pool. There is a smaller "adult pool" just a rectangle pool with beds, meant to be quiet area. There is also a smaller kids area, but can't comment on that 🤷🏼‍♀️Rule is no towels to claim dibs on beds before 8am, which seems fair, but really, I think plenty sun beds... Bar is located under the restaurant, loads of seating with parasols etc. smallest bar beside the pool that only serves soft or hot drinks. There is another bar/seating area around towards the beach that serves more. Tiny silly flimsy plastic cups for drinks near the pool, so sadly piles of discarded cups lying around, in the pool etc. perhaps have the returnable cup feature that some other resorts have? Seems a lot of waste/mess... I have hopefully attached a picture of what drinks are included. Nice selection... You can hire beach towels from reception, can't remember but I think 100 MAD which is returned with the towel... We'd used our own, so don't quote me on that! There is an activity team, who mill around, chatting to folk, dancing, organise darts, table tennis, aqua gym, Zumba etc... friendly enough, bit loud, amused at themselves... Lunch and dinner back in large buffet. Decent selection of food, Moroccan style with some safe extras like pasta/rice/nuggets, pizza, spag bol style, salads, but always plenty of choice available. Wine at your table or soft drinks dispenser's. We'd befriended the waiter from breakfast, so he kept us a table every day, which was amazing, I cannot praise him highly enough! Friendly, looked out for us, clearly kept notes on who liked what, so often we'd go for lunch and there was selection of drinks already waiting for us!! Love that. Can't remember exactly, but lunch was 12.30 to 14.30, dinner 19.00 to 22.00. Apparently there are snacks available mid afternoon but we never found/sourced where from 🤷🏼‍♀️We never went to any of the entertainment so can't comment but the live music we could hear wasn't awful... There are 3 a la carte restaurants on site, a Moroccan, an Italian and a seafood, one meal from each included with AI (I believe) but you've to reserve your table the day before, I think between 15.00 and 18.00 ish... We never did, too much debate about who likes what... So, can't help with that, sorry! Loads of water activities included/available, just go and book. Again we never did, but paddle boarding, surfing etc... There is a spa, massages etc, book and pay directly inside. They have an indoor pool available at a small cost. Reasonable prices depending what you choose... There are a lot of cats within the resort, "resort cats" I assume they help with pest control? Don't bother me, loved my daily kitten cuddles, but FYI, if you don't like cats, they're are quite a few dotted around the resort... We had them all named and photographed and cuddled by the end of the week 😂 just saying, if it's not your thing.....We did very little so I can't comment on much... Just a mix bag of pros and cons... ProsMost staff friendly and helpful (one reception girl was not ever helpful/friendly) but most were! Food was good and variable Pool was spacious with plenty bedsLoads of places to sit/walk around Music playing most of the timeWe did have a really good holiday!! There's a safe in your room, easy to set up, free to use! Win!ConsNo help for late flight arrivals, eating pot noodles in your room at 23.30 on 1st night is a little depressing!! A lot of focus on Google reviews, the entertainment team constantly requesting reviews be done... Photo attached of the team just hanging around, making noise, thinking they're cool when it's actually just a bit annoying (my personal opinion!)A lot of shabby things, handle in bathroom hanging, broken tiles, just a bit poor repairNo secluded quiet spots to sit, always a lot of noise/people... Plastic flimsy wasteful cupsOh, TV, we were told "lots of english channels" but nope, not a single one!!On a personal note/comments -No facilities for late flight arrivals, annoyed me. Id emailed twice prior to our trip to try and make arrangements, never received a reply. Glad I planned with pot noodles. Check out is noon, no matter what. Our flight was a late flight, noone cares, unless you pay 100MAD per hour, IF the room is available for late check out (can't be checked until morning of departure)We lost power in our room at one point, contacted reception, maintenance guy turned within minutes, problem solved, excellent!!While I wasn't aware of bugs, I was bitten many many times (not usually a problem I encounter!) and I'm not saying one way or another, but at night I'd take stock and put cream on all bug bites but waken in the morning with more than id had the previous night... just saying.... We had reason to use the infirmary, can't fault the nurse on duty there and very grateful for her care of my daughter! Thank you. Huge shout out to ⭐ Rachid Iguiz ⭐ our waiter for breakfast and lunch every day! What a lovely thoughtful man!! Cannot praise him highly enough!! 🥰Overall we had a great holiday, weather was lovely, we chilled and relaxed and ate and drank and had a great break. Would I go back to that resort? Only if they offered it to me for free... Would I go back to Morocco? Yep! Would I recommend this resort to others? No, I don't think I would, sadly. Our personal issues during the week (which I won't bore you with) and the comments and conversations we've had with many other families/couples during our stay... No, I don't think so. A lot of focus on getting reviews while not actually going the extra mile to earn good reviews... You know? Happy to answer questions if you have any, I've probably missed loads! This is all my opinion /kids opinions/actual info based on our week there..... Guest Relation Les dunes d'or, Guest Services / Front Office at Dunes D'or Ocean Club, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your stay with us.We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful weather, our spacious pool area, the variety of food on offer, and the comfort of your room. We are especially delighted by your kind words about Rachid Iguiz, whose attentiveness and genuine care clearly made a lasting impression on your family. We will be very proud to share your compliments with him, as well as with our infirmary team and maintenance staff. At the same time, we sincerely regret the aspects of your stay that did not meet your expectations. We understand your disappointment regarding the room allocation, the lack of late-night dining options upon arrival, the communication before your stay, and certain maintenance issues you encountered around the property. Your comments regarding the atmosphere in some areas, waste management, entertainment approach, and late check-out flexibility have also been carefully noted and shared with the relevant teams for review.Guest feedback such as yours is extremely valuable as it helps us identify both our strengths and the areas where improvements are needed. While we are happy that you were ultimately able to relax and enjoy your holiday in Morocco, we are sorry that we did not fully earn your recommendation on this occasion.Thank you once again for your balanced and honest feedback. We wish you and your family all the very best and hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels in Morocco.

    Stay away, it’s terrible.

    rating07 Jun 2026

This must be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in, staff not interested , food abysmal, rooms I need of maintenance, restaurant tables left in cleared. We had a week there, Chechen in slow, room not ready, had to wait 3hours, given a room up 6 flights of stairs, I hade e mailed and asked for lower floor following knee op, after 2 nights we were moved to ground floor room in prestige block, not sure why it’s called that ? Stink of cat wee, cats everywhere at this hotel. The food was terrible, poor quality, same every day more or less. The staff seem to want to spend more time talking to each other than dealing with people. The entertainment is so poor it’s laughable, the main bar served beer in dirty glasses, it was ok if you had a drink early evening but the seemed to run out of glasses so just washed them out and served them, I had more than one dirty glass. The beach bar is the best bar by far, pleasant staff, a tip helped ! Guest Relation Les dunes d'or, Guest Services / Front Office at Dunes D'or Ocean Club, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sincerely sorry to read that your stay did not meet your expectations. The experience you describe regarding your arrival, the delay in receiving your room, the initial room allocation despite your mobility request, and the overall impression of service is clearly not the experience we aim to provide our guests. We also regret your dissatisfaction with the food offering, the cleanliness concerns you encountered, and the condition of certain facilities. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with the relevant departments, as guest feedback is essential in helping us identify areas requiring immediate attention and improvement. That said, we are pleased to know that our team was able to arrange a room change during your stay and that you enjoyed the atmosphere and service at our beach bar. Your kind words regarding that team are appreciated and will be passed on.We understand your disappointment and thank you for taking the time to bring these matters to our attention. We wish you all the best in your future travels.
