    The worst on my life

    rating06 Sept 2023

I recently had the misfortune of staying at Dar Latigeo and feel compelled to share my experience to inform potential guests. From the outset, the cleanliness (or lack thereof) was glaringly apparent. Dust was pervasive, and it seemed that basic housekeeping principles had been overlooked. This level of cleanliness is certainly not suitable for those with allergies or a sensitivity to dust.Furthermore, our interactions with a staff member named Leo were anything but pleasant. Instead of being greeted with warmth and professionalism, we were met with rudeness and a blatant disregard for our needs. His attitude and lack of customer service skills significantly marred our vacation experience. In light of these issues, especially for those who value cleanliness and courteous service, I would strongly advise against staying at this establishment. There are numerous other options available that prioritize guest satisfaction and comfort.

The style of the place is very cool love what they have done You can find the place easily from the markets it’s in the prime location to find everything. The rooftop is cool to look across the city and breakfast is amazing you get so much food!!! Highly recommend staying here you won’t regret it!

    Simple & basic accommodation

    rating17 Jun 2019

We stayed for 2 nights the room was fine and basic, we had a shared bathroom with 1 other room on our floor. We were greeted on arrival and check in was a straight forward. Located in a central area just off the main walking Avenue to the harbour/ central area. Recommend for 20€ per night.

The best hotel we stayed at in Morocco!

    rating19 Jan 2019

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, and didn't want to leave. It was very clean, amazingly well designed and very cosy (and my husband is an architect, so he pays a lot of attention to this). The breakfast was jummy too. It's obe of the best value for money deals we have ever had.

    Lovely little hotel

    rating26 Oct 2018

My mum and I stayed at the Dar Latigeo for 1 night in July 2018.Arrival:We arrived at around midday and despite being early our room was ready, so after checking in and getting some useful info from the owner (who is a real character, incidentally!) we took our cases up.Room:We were in the blue room (or rather suite) on the first floor, and the layout was super unusual, with a bathroom immediately as you entered on the left, then a walkway which led into the bedroom. The bathroom was compact and there was a slight smell (but not too bad; keep the plugs in); the water pressure was OK and the temperature was fine. The bedroom was very large with a sitting area (sofa and coffee table) as you entered, and then a double bed up a step at the other end. Plenty of storage. Decor was white with blue soft furnishings plus lovely paintings (which were displayed throughout the hotel). Both the bedroom and bathroom look down over the central courtyard, which was unusual; just be mindful that guests from the upper floors can potentially see in and keep the bathroom curtain drawn when using it!Breakfast:The breakfast was simply but lovely, and very filling. We had a msemmun cooked fresh, a fried egg, and jam, plus French bread and butter. The fresh coffee and orange juice were delicious. As we were the only guests we were allowed to choose some music to play on the record player, which was fun. We particularly enjoyed watching the cat listen to it (apparently she hasn't shown an interest before, so she must have liked our selection ;-) )Location:Excellent location, right in the middle of the old town, and really easy to find. Essaouira itself was lovely; very touristy, yes, but I loved the art galleries and shops and the vibe is in total contrast to Marrakech, super chilled and laid back.Summary:Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again if visiting Essaouira.
