Location

This guesthouse is ideally located along the ancient city walls; its terrace offering a superb panoramic view of the ocean, the port, the island of Mogador and the medina. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Rooms

    It's like sleeping in the middle of a disco

    DO NOT STAY HERE!!! While the dar has lovely rooms, it is located directly next to a club that played intolerably loud techno music from 6PM until 2AM. There was no way to escape the pounding bass drum and it was impossible to sleep. The owner also owned the club and was indifferent to our complaints. 2 other couples our group moved out and lost money. It's really a shame because the staff was very nice.

    Our instructor booked the whole place for our sketching retreat. On the first night, the music venue next door played very loud techno music until 1am. We discovered that the owner of our Dar was the same as the owner of the music venue. We politely asked for the music to be lowered in volume after 11pm. On the second night, not only did they not lower the music, they played until 2am.

    Ideal to combine historical character with charm and comfort

    I particularly appreciated the possibility of being able to combine the fact of being in the center of the Kasbah, the historic heart of the medina (the tiny Souss lane appears on a 1767 map as it still is today!), in a riad very respectful of the architectural tradition, yet with charm and at the same time great comfort. Hearty and friendly breakfast on the sunny terrace is fantastic, such feelings of rest and comfort! For a private terrace with a view of the harbor dungeons and the ocean, I chose the Suite "Belem" set as a boat's cabin. The view on the old harbor, its fortress protecting from sea's tides, is going to be one of my best souvenir of Essaouira. The staff is so kind, so dedicated to make you feel good, and so is Nathalie, the discrete owner who nevertheless will make sure you don't miss anything. I'm used to come back regularly to Essaouira since over 15 years and I tried many great places already, but I will definitely come back to that riad.

    Lovely Riad/Dar in local style. We stayed in the family suite with a large mezzanine, our teenagers had ample space. Very friendly and helpful staff and owner. Delicious breakfast. We also dined on a homemade couscous, large quantity and the best we ate all week. Very good quality /price overall.
