Location

This hotel is located at the far end of the Medina, in the Sandillon district, which is named after the builder of Essaouira’s first windmill. It is next to the Sqala and the castle walls of Essaouira, on the oceanfront. Restaurants and shopping venues are in the hotel’s close proximity, and the beach is a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in a 4-storey building with a lift and 30 rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There are a number of shops as well. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services include a complimentary babysitting service, a childcare service, medical assistance, room service (for a fee), an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service (for a fee) to explore the surrounding area. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

The rooms of the hotel include air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. Most units include a balcony with sea views, where guests can relax and linger a while. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub.

Sport

Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis, crazy golf, golf and horse riding. A wide range of sports are available, including water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling and diving or, for a fee, jet skiing. The fitness rooms are perfect for a comprehensive workout. There is a wellness area with a spa, a hammam and a beauty salon and, for an additional fee, a steam bath and massage treatments. Children are well looked after in the kids' club.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant, a breakfast room and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A wide variety of dishes are served at all three main mealtimes. Guests can enjoy lunch and dinner as a set menu. Diet meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request.     We were very happy to have stayed at Riad Mimouna during our stay in Essaouria! The room was spacious and very comfortable, but the greatest thing about it was our spectacular view right over the Atlantic (see pictures)! The views from the top floor breakfast and lounge are also amazing. Service was great. Location for us was perfect - within the old town but at the edge of it, making everything accessible yet uncrowded at night and quiet (although than the sound of the waves, which we enjoyed). The breakfast was good, but not as luxe as the rest of the experience, so that could be improved just a bit. Overall all though, a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend.

    The worst stay in Morocco. We (3 rooms ) travelled from Tangier through various towns & cities. By far the worst. We read reviews that said the view was fabulous & saw the clicks of the room on trip advisor before we asked our TA best travel Morocco to book. Tiny, poky room. No air conditioning or central heating, no slippers, no bottled water, no coffee/tea or even a water jug/kettle or glasses/cuos in the tiny room with a shabby even tinier toilet which was leaking with water covering the whole bathroom floor. After an unwelcoming cold check in by Kareem when we complained, instead of changing the room or repairing this huge problem he had towels put on the bathroom floor which were soaking wet & perhaps same towels used as bath towels post drying. Very unhygienic bed linen ( smelling ) thin, tired bath towels, no body lotion or shower cap. Breakfast was mediocre but good service by Yassine & this morning the receptionist Hamsa had the toilet problem sorted in short time, unfortunately an hour prior to our check out & he was well mannered & apologetic. There was sand on the floor & the frugal small table. The House Keeping staff pushed our door open whilst we were in the room & it was most embarrassing as I had just finished my shower & was walking into our room. Place reeks of poor management & we suggest you have pleasant staff as Hamsa to welcome guests & Kareem in the back office as he is ill mannered, condescending, inefficient & lazy. We heard other guests complain as well. The rooms on 3rd floor are better & larger. Our TA said he had booked us the best rooms… At the reception we were told we were booked for regular rooms Unsure who is lying.. a beautiful coastal town is Essaouira with fabulous views but such poor behaviour & ill kept Riads leave a poor taste in the mouth.

    Wow what a setting.Overlooking the sea on the sea wall.Lovely staff.Perfect location for all of Essasouria.Beach , Medina, history, it has it all.

    Absolutely fantastic riad. Get a corner room, the ocean views and sounds are out of this world, the decor upmarket. Staff very friendly and helpful, they even managed to find me a hammer...don't ask!!! Breakfast is in the rooftop restaurant, again breathtaking views. We saw this riad ten years ago on our last trip and promised ourselves we'd return to stay there. Absolutely lived up to our hopes and expectations.
