    according the description on their website and a personal phone call, i booked directly at the hotel for 2 shipspotters / -photographers. the room 414 was on the side face of the building, with a large tree in front of it. so, 2 people could not take pictures at once, although it was not possible to open the window completly. then, the room was not really clean (shower, toilet), the beds extremely soft and the linens just thrown over the bed.the breakfast was poorly organized: dirty tables, missing cups / plates / cutlery, milk not always available and empty plates from tables or buffet not removed / replaced immediately, especially when seminars or meetings took place (TUE - FRI). the food itself was good at breakfast as well as at dinner time.a complaint did not help at all. we guess, there was a lack of personell and some weren't really motivated to do their job...it's definitely not a 4-star hotel, although the situatiobn directly on the water was perfect.

    The breakfast was better... somehow qualitz is going down. E.g.: only orange juice, not other flavour. qualitz of croissants has worsened... Less cheese and meats...

    There is much to like but equally to dislike. The position, cleaning, layout, parking all great. What wasn't so great, no blackout curtains so, get up at daybreak. Our captain suite on the 2nd floor looks out at the restaurant built right in front. I guess higher rooms will look out over the restaurant building. We could follow our fellow travelers conversation from next door. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't do anything hence for some reason after opening the bathroom door the fire alarm activated an alarm at the reception (twice) Lots of little things like, no coat hooks in the entrance, proper tea and coffee cups but small wood sticks to stir (great at McDonald but in a good hotel?) several light switches didn't work. Being situated next to the lift is not good, all room doors on our floor slam shut.Anyhow, as I said also much to like.Being a seasoned traveller makes one critical and I realise that. Having stayed at a number of hotels in Rotterdam centre I appreciate the fact that at the Delta hotel there was no tram, bus, motorbike and party noises until the early morning.

    The hotel sits right on a river in Vlaardingen. The restaurant offers good food and drinks and it overlooks a river with many ships passing by. The views were very nice. The rooms are a little outdated so the main attraction is the restaurant on the river. I booked a room through Booking com and when I arrived I noticed I was charged for two breakfast passes although I was solo. When I asked about removing the charge they said they could not refund the 2nd breakfast charge which was disappointing since the hotel is fairly pricey when you eat at their restaurant every night. Have to deduct at least one star for that.
