Bellini bar a disappointment in the food area.

    rating27 May 2026

This is not a hotel review but rather one of the Bellini Bar in the hotel. I have stayed at this hotel previously and knew the bar area was lovely, overlooking the water etc… I decide on a whim at 11.15 am after going online and seeing that the bar area opened at 10 am that I would pop in for something to eat and drink. WhenI went up to the counter ( no one was around)..I grabbed a menu of drinks and snacks. Literally five or so things to choose from and one was a sharing platter.Eventually a man came to assist me and I asked what non alcoholic drinks there were ( the drinks menu is big). I was shown coke,Coke Zero etc….I said I would, have salt and pepper squid and a coke ( he didn’t seem to get the notion of a mocktail.)It was around 11.30 at this stage, was then told that I couldn’t order for around another 40 minutes.Asked what there was to eat and he pointed to one!!!!!!!!! Only one muffin on a plate. Said no thank and left. Literally cannot believe this hotel has nothing to eat until maybe 12.00? If you plan staying here the bar menu is limited.

    As special as ever!

    rating26 May 2026

The Hilton Auckland was just great again recently and I could really unwind there. I liked my room with a balcony with its view of the Hotel swimming pool and a sliver of harbour. THe bed and bed linens were super comfortable and dominated by crisap white lines. Breakfast was, as ever, awesome! Hilton NZ, Owner at Hilton Auckland, responded to this review Kia Ora PerryB137,Thank you for staying with us again and for sharing such a lovely review. We're delighted to hear you were able to truly unwind and enjoyed your room with the balcony view. It is also wonderful to know breakfast continues to be a highlight of your stays with us. We look forward to welcoming you back to Hilton Auckland for another relaxing stay soon. Kind regards,Michael SarinoGeneral Manager - Hilton Auckland

    Room for Improvement

    rating23 Apr 2026

I chose this hotel because of its location directly adjacent to the cruise terminal. We were able to walk off the ship and wheel our luggage to the hotel in 5 minutes, which was very convenient. However, many others also have the same idea. Between people checking out to board the large cruise ship we just departed and many others checking in, the hotel lobby was mobbed at 10:00 am.I had contacted the hotel prior to arrival to request an early check in, but quickly realized that wasn't going to happen given the crowds. The front desk clerk assured me they would contact us as soon as the room was ready. After four hours of sitting in the lobby and literally the last people left waiting, a room was finally available. Although it was not the room we were originally assigned, we were told it was a recently renovated room. The room was well laid out, with a small sitting area separated by a divider from the bed. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows could have been better. There were two TV's as well as a sitting area and a small fridge. The balcony was large, but it unfortunately looked out onto another building, not the harbour, so there really wasn't much of a view. While the bathroom was large and updated, the renovation quality assurance must have been overlooked, as the sink taps were loose, the toilet seat was loose and the shower arm did not stay fixed to the shower wall. Access to the daily continental breakfast was included with our Gold honors status and it was a pleasant dining area overlooking the water (the view I wished I had in my room). The pool had been under construction and was supposed to have opened the day we arrived, but it was still closed for the weekend, so it was disappointing not to be able to use that amenity. The best thing about the hotel was the service. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and sincerely wanted to be helpful, always asking us if there was anything we needed. That customer treatment helped to compensate for some of the other disappointing aspects of our stay. I would suggest weighing the benefits of the location next to the cruise terminal vs the inability of the hotel to handle large crowds checking in/out and decide what's most important to you. Very convenient pre-cruise hotel in need of an update

    rating17 Mar 2026

I appreciated that they tried to accommodate earlier check in at 1pm instead of the 3pm. However, I was informed that I would get a text when my room was ready which I never received. I just went back to the front desk at 1pm to check again and discovered that a room was now available. I was also assigned an accessible room which I didn’t request, but decided not to complain and ask for a room switch since I was only staying 2 nights pre-cruise. I agree with other reviewers that the rooms are dated and could use an update. Breakfast was great with nice views of the marina. The location is perfect for pre-cruise as the cruise port entrance is right next door. It’s worth it for the pre-cruise convenience, but if you’re staying for more than a few days, you may want to find a more updated hotel. Hilton NZ, Owner at Hilton Auckland, responded to this review Kia Ora Jenny L,Thank you for your review following your stay with us at Hilton Auckland.
