Centrally located, this city hotel is 5 minutes' walk from the harbour and a few minutes from the main shopping area on Queen Street. Along with the advantages of staying in an elegant hotel, guests will find a vast array of entertainment options, quite literally on the doorstep. Auckland International Airport is approximately 23 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has a lift and features 323 rooms, including 98 single rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. A baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Amenities provided in the rooms include slippers and a daily paper. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are provided. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

The outdoor pool complex provides invigorating refreshment. Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including a gym, aerobics, a spa and a sauna. A casino and a nightclub are also options for entertainment.

    My husband and I have had many a staycation at Sky City Hotel. This one was as great as always. From arriving at the complex to be met by smiley Peter in the driveway, being checked in by the professional Santosh at reception, my bag in my room when I got there and all while so much activity going on with the annual stair climb by NZ’s firefighters. What an amazing atmosphere. That only this hotel can create. My room was lovely with a personalised note to welcome me back. All the little details that make you feel special. Checkout was just as great. Brittany doing a fantastic job as always and Dickie mannerist my car into the driveway with care as the area was filled with people watching and cheering the firefighters on.     Took the kids (5 and 9) to celebrate wife’s graduation for two nights at Skycity. Had a great stay. So good, we are going back two weekends later but this time will try Skycity Grand. Peter from the valet parking was amazing and he and the Skycity team gave excellent service. Location was fantastic, handy to lots of things to do for the kids and for us. Went to teppanyaki, rode flamingo scooters, federal deli for breakfast, played the casino (without kids of course), and took them to Dr Rudis for tenpin and arcade games and Headquarters for a dance on the stage. Rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. If we are being picky, toilet roll holder was wonky so the roll kept falling off, couldn’t get the chrome cast in the room to work and had to clean the shower drain because it was filling up with water. But everything else was great in the room and as expected. Great value for a holiday that will be core memories for us.     I stay at SkyCity every month as I travel to Auckland for work on the North Shore - have been coming to SkyCity since it opened in 1996 I must say, the service is one of a kind - all the front office team treat me like family, have a good laugh and will do all possible to help.
