    Unpleasant Experience - Misleading Garden View & Poor Room Conditions

    Bad experience overall. They assigned me a basement room with a strong unpleasant smell, as if it had been closed for many days without ventilation. I booked this room specifically because it was advertised as having a garden view, but the “garden” turned out to be a small basement area with no fresh air or proper view at all. When I requested a room change, the staff was uncooperative and not helpful.     Dated hotel. My shower blocked up and filled up the bathtub as soon as it turned on. A mouldy bath mat was hung over the bath and there was no toilet brush. The iron and hairdryer looked like they were 20 years old.I could almost forgive all of that, but the staff in the breakfast restaurant were so rude. The first day I arrived at the breakfast buffet and there was no where to sit so I had to wait for 10 minutes for a seat which ran me late to work. When I asked the woman if I could sit at a table that a tour bus had just left she told me I couldn’t and I should’ve booked to guarantee a seat… perhaps they should tell you that at check in! The second morning I arrived with my bag in tow and the restaurant manager barked at me to put it to the side. I then didn’t put it somewhere of her liking and she barked at me again and said ‘that’s in my way, put it down there’. No please, no offer to help, no courtesy whatsoever - honestly spoke to me like dirt on her shoe.Would not return!     This property is very peaceful with close proximity to the village of Queenstown. Any easy stroll to where the action is. The hotel is decorated nicely and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.     Chaotic hotel and not very clean

    Arrived after four pm and our room wasn’t ready. Reception didn’t tell us so we hauled our cases down steps to the room to find out.Thought we’d wait in the bar but that didn’t open until 5pm.When our room was ready it wasn’t very clean, especially the bathroom. Grubby toilet and black hairs on the floor. Bed was comfy,wifi good. No amenity packs at all in the room.Breakfast was ok. Eggs and bacon were lukewarm.We did take advantage of the hot tub.     Would not recommend - go to Browns Boutique hotel instead

    Tired hotel, no air conditioning, no shower cap, tissues or extra things that even the motels we stayed in supplied. Dark room & bathroom smelt slightly damp. Weird layout on various different levels. Long way to drag your luggage & no offer of assistance.On the upside (they don’t tell you this) it’s a 5 min walk to edge of town down steps nearby or longer via pretty gardens. Car parking $15 per night is good value.Front desk staff friendly but others not so good. Lovely view from the bar area. We didn’t eat here.
