    WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!!

    rating13 Apr 2026

Great location and friendly staff who are up against it. That's the end of the good stuff. My wife and I travel frequently and are ACCOR members. We recognise the Peppers Brand as accommodation that we respect and trust as quality. This place is anything but. Stained carpet, small room, broken furniture, flickering bedside lamp, water damaged vanity bench, broken bathroom tiles, and a broken vanity door. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the idea.I wanted to complain directly to ACCOR management as I'm sure the Peppers Beacon manager is just trying to hold the sorry place together whilst renovations are undertaken. I tried to complain directly by Email to ACCOR by using their complaint form, but nothing seemed appropriate for a formal complaint. Hence I'm utilising TripAdvisor. We acknowledge that we were travelling over Easter and expected to pay a premium, but $420AUS p/n was excessive for what we got. What a rip off!!!

Disappointed - definitely not luxury accommodation

    rating13 Feb 2026

Great location, walking distance to town centre, shops, bars, restaurants, and all activities. Hotel itself is very tired. Needs major renovation works. Expensive for the quality of rooms. Worn through carpets, water stained blinds, have to step over a bath to have a shower. All rooms have this configuration. Disappointed, as it’s sold as luxury accommodation.House keeping was random for a 2 week stay. Some days towels were changed, some days only hand towels changed. Disgusted to mention the toilet brush, absolutely needs replacing.

It’s ok but I wouldn’t stay here again.

    rating09 Feb 2026

Staying here isn’t going to ruin your trip, but I wouldn’t stay again. The location is good, maybe a 5 min walk to town, and most rooms have a mountain or lake view. But overall this was a pretty average experience; I feel like they’re planning on updating soon so it feels very dated and unloved at the moment. My main dislikes were the bedrooms and bathroom didn’t have a window, we had to get our room key reprogrammed every single day because it stopped working, and one evening there was a fire in the bbq area which gave a strong smell of burnt plastic (and the area was not addressed by staff until the following day - no signage, fence or communication about it). Price was reasonable.

Okay place to stay but there's bound to be better options

    rating25 Jan 2026

Stunning location but a very, very tired hotel! Staff were pretty good. The view from the rooms is exceptional - typical for Queenstown but the carpets, walls and bathrooms needs a lot of renovating.

    Over priced, under delivered

    rating12 Jan 2026

Disappointed for $1000 a night, there was a terrible smell, old tatty furniture, stained curtains, carpet pulled and tatty, dirty unit, common areas need refresh and paint/clean, artwork framing chipped. No smart TV, seems crazy in todays world, will not be rushing back.
