    Great small boutique hotel

    Located right next to Gudvangen pier. Local Joker grocery shop 5 minutes away. Big skylight over bed would be great for watching Northern Lights should it occur. A Viking bed is unique. Good breakfast with freshly baked bread and good selection of both hot and cold breakfast spread. Dinner is also good but limited selection and a bit on pricey side which is expected for its remote location. View of the fjord is amazing.

    Best Hotel for Beautiful Fjord Views and Convenience to the Ferry

    We initially booked a room here for three nights because of the good reviews of the breakfast bar and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed warm bread, delicious smoked salmon, eggs, the best coffee and lots of other items every morning. The nice surprise about this place was the beautiful 360 fjord views we enjoyed our entire stay. Also the location is perfect for catching the ferry to Flåm as the stop is on the hotel property. Also we really liked the convenience of having several options on the property for really good dinners each night. We especially liked the salmon dinner and pizza and we appreciated the Viking themes all around the property. Also we found the staff to be very hard-working and willing to provide us with the highest level of service.

    Our group of 9 enjoyed the gift shop and café while we waiting for the ferry to Flam. The gift shop offered several cold weather clothing options, as coats, hats, furry fun things, and I scored a 50% off Norway sweatshirt. They sell upscale clothing and souvenirs. We hit the cafe for a good start to our day with several coffees and teas. The sandwiches looked a little soggy. The sale dates were all expired. So we opted for some pastries instead to enjoy on the accessible uncovered patio. Beautiful waterfront view!Entry is wheel accessible, venue is accessible with accessible indoor and out door seating. Free accessible restroom.

    Poor hotel with promising manager,,and only he just promising and do nothing. Old building broken,dusty,dirty service only for money! Same as viking village :(

    We booked this hotel predominantly for the location and the hotel Viking experience.Firstly, the location is wonderful, secluded with a unique charm and the most amazing views of the Fjords. It could not be faulted.The hotel staff were friendly, helpful; allowed us a later checkout time and storage of our luggage for no extra charge.It’s the little things that detract however. For over £200 a night it lacked finishing touches. An example is plastic cups in the room, no complimentary toiletries etc and for the price paid, it wouldn’t have taken much to make the stay luxurious rather than comfortable.Other places we have stayed at during our Norwegian trip have been cheaper, yet more luxurious.
