    Enjoyed the bed, the elevator and the ac after a couple of weeks in the urabamba valley. breakfast buffet was ample and varied every day..except for the terrible coffee. And in Peru. They want you to buy a real coffee.     Business hotel not suited to tpurists

    This trip was part of a multi location vacation. On arrival at the hotel ( 4 1/2 hours early due to connecting flights, the staff seemed to be disengaged and unsympathetic, the lift access was via. Key card but as we could not check we did not have a key card. We were advised to use the roof top pool area which. Did not have any formOf refreshment. We used th bar area which. Looked more suited to a business hotel rather than a tourist hotel.     Functional hotel but lacking warmth and hospitality

    We stayed at the Dazzler by Wyndham San Isidro in Lima for two nights, and while the hotel is perfectly functional and located in a good area, the overall experience felt far more focused on process than on guest hospitality.We arrived early in the morning due to an early flight, fully aware that check-in was not until 3pm. The hotel stored our luggage without issue, which we appreciated, but there were very limited facilities available for guests arriving early and needing somewhere comfortable to wait.The pool area wasn’t really suitable for spending several hours before check-in, and access to the lift requires a room key card, which of course we didn’t yet have. There is also no pool bar, so there was nowhere convenient to order drinks or food while waiting.We went to the bar instead but were largely ignored and then rather abruptly told we could not sit outside. No explanation was given at the time, although it later became clear maintenance work was being carried out on the green wall. A simple explanation would have made the interaction feel far more welcoming. Inside, all the tables were formally set for dining, which made it awkward to sit down just for a drink, and the chairs were quite uncomfortable.Communication with the waiter was also difficult as he spoke very little English, which was surprising for a hotel that appears to cater to an international clientele.The reception experience was unfortunately also disappointing. At check-in we were asked to pay a deposit, which is completely understandable, but the card machines repeatedly failed and we were made to feel as though the problem was with our cards, despite having used them without issue throughout Brazil, Argentina and Peru. We were initially asked for $50, then told to pay cash when the machine did not work, and eventually when the payment finally went through the receipt showed 200 soles, which was confusing given the earlier request for dollars.At checkout at 3am, the receptionist appeared extremely unfriendly and made us wait while another staff member checked the minibar to ensure nothing had been used before returning our deposit. When we politely said “Buenos días” we were met with silence and no acknowledgement, which again left us feeling like an inconvenience rather than guests.The toilets near the restaurant/bar were also disappointing. The only facilities we could locate appeared to be the disabled restroom, which unfortunately was dirty, smelled unpleasant and had used toilet paper on the floor.We did not have breakfast due to early departures, but having read some of the other TripAdvisor comments we were not particularly optimistic.During the rest of our travels in Peru we experienced incredibly warm hospitality where nothing seemed too much trouble for staff. Sadly that welcoming spirit was missing here.Overall, the hotel is adequate if you simply need a functional place to stay in San Isidro, but the service and guest experience fell well below the standard we experienced elsewhere in Peru.
