Everything you need and nothing you don't

    rating15 Apr 2026

Everything you need to know about staying at Falcon Point in a 2 min read. This was my first time (solo) traveler to the Avon/Beaver Creek area for some spring skiing. I drew the lucky time share exchange card and booked a week in a studio. There is an exceptionally wide selection of accommodations in the Avon Beaver Creek area from Lux ski in ski out to the more modest – Falcon Point fits into the “more modest” category. To be clear, I’m not at all saying modest=poor quality; just less grandiose…..and a considerable distance from the slopes. Falcon Point is a great fit for travelers on a budget – here’s why. Distance from the slopes. With no shuttle option, guests will need to walk with their gear 7 minutes to the Lake Street Station. From there, it’s a 17 minute ride via the free ski shuttle (runs every 15 ish minutes during peak travel hours (8-10, 2-4) to the base of Beaver Creek. Honestly, not a big deal considering how much more you’ll pay for ski in/ski out. My studio was clean, about 550 sq ft with a small kitchenette that included a range, dishwasher and full size refrigerator. Absent was an oven; there was a toaster oven. My unit has no deck or patio. Not the Ritz but honestly it was everything I needed including a comfortable bed, full size couch and decent size flat screen. I was offered a free ski locker in the basement to store my gear. Housekeeping was once per week. The front desk staff were really nice. They have a modest pool area with two hot tubs and a common area with a pool table. All in, I traveled to Avon to ski Beaver Creek and given another opportunity I would not hesitate to return!

They rented us a unit with the light and views blocked with PLYWOOD

    rating17 Jul 2025

Do not stay here in 2025!! My family and I had been looking forward to our one-week stay in the Rocky Mountains in July. We checked into our 2-bedroom unit this afternoon only to find that the outdoor deck/sliding door—and whole common area light source—is boarded up with PLYWOOD, blocking out all light and views of the mountains. Furthermore, the outdoor area where a deck should be is covered with scaffolding. They are apparently removing decks permanently for safety reasons. (Photos: The indoor photo was taken during the day with lots of natural light available from the outdoors, but the plywood blocks out ALL light to the interior. It’s a dark ugly cave. My camera kept adding light to it because it thought it was nighttime. Outdoors, the scaffolding covers the unit’s living room/common area.)The management said there are 8 units affected by this and there are no other units to move us to. For almost $2000 for this trade, we got stuck in a dingy, dark hot unit. There is no A/C, and no sliding door for a breeze and fresh air. The fine print on the timeshare exchange reservation said the resort is undergoing a renovation, but never did I envision they would rent out a unit that is completely void of any outdoor view or natural lighting. They should have blocked these units off from being available. That’s what maintenance fees are supposed to cover. Also, the decor of the entire unit is just ho-hum. Looks like something out of the 1990s. They sell timeshare weeks here and they seem to be full, so they obviously don’t have a problem keeping their units rented, but I would look elsewhere before booking here. The photos on the website make it look much nicer than it is. It’s just ONE building, not part of the larger complex with nice units with outdoor decks shown in the marketing photos. I will continue to leave posts like this one on all travel sites to spare others the waste of money and poor accommodations that were provided to us.

Strollable scenic lake adjacent to property

    rating20 May 2025

This is a lovely property with a scenic small lake behind it that we strolled around each morning, waking us up to a beautiful day. There are sidewalks all the way around the lake, a broad wooden dock with handrails, pet park, playground, and several places to simply enjoy the mountains and bucolic views.

    Walk to lifts, ski, repeat.

I chose Falcon Point based on price and location, and the "hotel" was very good in these two aspects. There's a town bus stop pretty much right outside the property. It's a 10-minute walk (in ski boots) to the town gondola to Beaver Creek. The price was excellent for a very pricy Avon. It was probably as low as you can find and relatively speaking, it was an excellent value. There were two excellent surprises. They have an underground garage - super handy to avoid snowstorms and the cold. Parking is complimentary. The front-desk staff was amazing and super-attentive (esp Jenni). The wifi worked very well for me. My unit had these fancy new appliances - there was a full-sized fridge, stove, dishwasher, and a fancy microwave. There's a comfy couch and a nice desk. Shower worked well. It's about 10-minute walk into town / restaurants. City Market and Walmart are too far away to walk imho. It's not a hotel - there isn't someone around the clock, but this wasn't an issue for me. They make coffee in the morning (pretty good coffee actually) but no real milk / cream. Housekeeping kept the place tidy but they don't do daily service (which I don't want anyway). I had no problems checking in late (they'll send you instructions via email). The room itself is small-ish but comfortable. It's not fancy but it's nice enough with a good sleep quality. The heat worked fine. The pool / clubhouse is in another building fyi (I didn't check it out). They have coin laundry, ski lockers, and vending machines. All in all, it's nothing fancy, but it's good for the price in Avon and a good base for skiing, if that's your thing.

Great property with a staff that sets tremendously high standards of hospitality

    rating08 Nov 2024

The location, right on Nottingham Lake, next to great restaurants and cafes was awesome. The unit was stylishly decorated and well stocked with everything we needed. The staff was crazy good, so committed to making sure we had a great stay. When we booked a week through Interval International, I wish we'd been informed that the pool and hot tub would be closed for maintenance. That was the main reason we'd stay in Vail Valley during the off season. They did give us free passes to the rec center across the street, but that's not the same as spending the day by the pool, drink in hand (as I had imagined.)
