Location

Alte is a typical Portuguese village, one of the most beautiful in the country, and is situated on the edge of the Serra do Caldeirão in the inland Algarve, 45 km from Faro airport and 25 km from Loulé. Restaurants, bars, shopping opportunities, links to public transport and the bus station can all be found nearby.

Facility

2 junior suites, 2 suites and 28 double rooms are available to guests in a 3-storey main building and a 2-storey auxiliary building. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Valuables can be stored securely and conveniently in the safe.     The welcome, the service, the food were all excellent. It was a last minute decission to book ans stay in the Alte Hotel but we were glad we did, OK some of it is a little dated but so are we.Will definitely be staying there again. Thanks to all of the staff.

    Hotel alteNot 3 star. Basic! arrived for check in at 3pm room not available til 430pm. Terrible service and they could care less so not a good start. General outdated rooms and hotel and needs repair. old fashioned furnishings. Veranda chairs nasty old hard plastic uncomfortable and very dirty worn one broken not replaced. Breakfast continental only and basic Internet very poor if at all no connectivity in room or parts of hotel except reception So very poor for the 21st century 2024.Cleaning hit and miss had to ask for clean towels after 4 days and soap container not filled and no clean sheets unless you ask. all at cleaners descretion apparently. No standards. tipped our cleaner 10euros but service no better! So don't bother...Pool is cleaned occasionally not heated. Chipped tiles. Lots of broken sunbeds and broken sun umbrellas.Pool time spoilt by 4 very loud screaming kids apparently the owners they monopolised the small pool with their pool toys and huge floats making swimming impossible. Not to. Mention the loud screaming and noise. maybe the owner should remember his guests should come first as they pay the bills.Won't be returning.

    Was couple nights spent in Alte Hotel. I am so happy. Lovely stuff ,kind, friendly.Special want to say big thank you to Reception girl Patricia Also Waitress Jenny and another lovely guy, can't remember name. They absolutely amazing. Food in hotel fresh and really tasty. The housekeeping stuff was lovely too.Thank you, Thank you 10_10.Will go definitely again. Really Recommend this lovely place xx

    The Hotel was clean but a little dated, and tired. Views from the hotel are amazing.The bed was very comfortable, but new pillows needed.The staff very friendly, and attentive. Breakfast quite adequate, a choice of cereals, and breads, ham and cheese, only hot food was scrambled eggs, and sausages. The coffee was very nice. personally l thought there was enough. The food in the restaurant very good and very reasonably priced. Service good.

    We stayed here for two nights as we were attending a wedding at the Monte Do Serrhino Country House, about a 10 minute drive away. The hotel is perfectly placed for that venue and is just a 5 minute drive away from the cosmopolitan little town of Alte. We had a nice afternoon in Alte, there are plenty of little bars and it’s quite a bohemian atmosphere. The hotel has plenty of parking, and a pool which we didn’t have time to use during our stay. Our room had a nice terrace overlooking a pretty garden area. Furniture is a bit dated and it would have been nice to have tea and coffee-making facilities in the room, especially after a long drive to get there. The bar and restaurant is traditionally furnished, with good views. We are there on the first night and the service and food was nice. Breakfast is self-service and the choice is a little limited but it was ok.
