  Beautiful place but…………

  Firstly I would like to say the hotel, facilities and staff are brilliant - the weather was superb Food etc all good But ……Nobody gives you prior warning that this place is mosquito hell! To be honest I should have realised that being a nature reserve surrounded by standing water that this would be the case Our first night we were bitten alive and then struggled to buy any decent repellent locally as they were sold out ! It then became a case of being inside after dusk which is sad as the music and any entertainment is external It’s such a shame that this is the abiding memory that I will take from this place but sadly as much as the place was beautiful I would not return I’m not sure even the Jungle Formula brand would have helped as all you see in the evening is people with candles on tables etc but still slapping legs arms and necks Not saying don’t go but be prepared Hotel Cabanaspark, General Manager at AP Cabanas Beach & Nature, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay with us.We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our hotel, facilities, food, friendly staff, and the beautiful weather during your holiday.We are, however, sorry to learn that mosquitoes had such a significant impact on your overall experience.   Well worth a visit

  An excellent hotel the staff are outstanding in every area: the food is excellent and the speciality restaurants are such a lovely touch:Rooms are very comfortable throughout and the daily maid service is efficient.I loved the pianist at breakfast what a treat but I’m at a loss as to why he is not used in the evening, perhaps speciality dining.One negative the evening entertainment is rather poor given the standard of the hotel and the back ground music in dining room is in the main black girl warblers which does not fit the ambience at all. Having said that we loved it and would visit again !!   ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5My girlfriend and I recently spent 7 nights at AP Cabanas Beach & Nature in Tavira, and overall we had a fantastic stay.The room was clean, comfortable, and serviced daily. It was on the smaller side, but that didn’t bother us at all. One minor issue was an occasional sewer smell when flushing the toilet, although it wasn’t constant and didn’t have a major impact on our stay.The main restaurant was very good, with plenty of variety to suit all tastes. The food was always fresh, well-cooked, and generally very tasty. The menu changed daily, which kept things interesting, although breakfast was quite repetitive throughout the week.The all-inclusive drinks selection was excellent. It was refreshing to see branded drinks included, such as Pepsi, Gordon’s Gin, Smirnoff Vodka, and Lipton Iced Tea, rather than cheaper alternatives. There was a good range of drinks available throughout the day.All of the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which really added to the experience.The pool area was spacious, clean, and generally well maintained. One small issue we noticed was that a few of the tiles around the pool were loose, which could potentially be a slight trip hazard and would benefit from some attention. We also found it unusual that there was no lifeguard on duty, although this didn’t personally bother us.The beach is around a 10-minute walk away, followed by a short 3–4 minute boat ride, which was quick and easy and added something a little different to the trip.The entertainment wasn’t really to our taste and was probably the weakest part of the holiday. There was some live music, but we found it quite poor overall. However, the pianist playing during breakfast each morning was a lovely touch and created a relaxing atmosphere.One of the best parts of the holiday was simply relaxing, enjoying the food and drinks, and meeting people from different countries. Unlike some resorts that can feel dominated by one nationality, this hotel had a genuinely international mix of guests, including Germans, French, Belgians and many others. It created a great atmosphere and was a real breath of fresh air.If you’re looking for nightlife or more entertainment, I’d recommend finding your own. Cabanas village is only a short walk away and has plenty of nice bars and restaurants to explore. For those wanting a bigger night out, Albufeira is around an hour away and offers a much livelier party scene.Overall, we had a great holiday and would happily recommend AP Cabanas Beach & Nature. If you’re after a relaxing all-inclusive break with good food, branded drinks, friendly staff and a multicultural atmosphere, it’s definitely worth considering. Just don’t expect the entertainment programme to be a highlight, as there is much more to enjoy outside the hotel and in the surrounding area.   Excellent Holiday

  After reading a deluge of poor reviews before we went away very apprehensive.Lovely hotel with a great team of staff, very clean and well maintained.The issue with coat hangers was correct, six hangers a joke but a trip to reception saw another 12 hangers with us within 10 minutes.The bedroom was perfectly adequate and the story about the drawers unfounded there was plenty of storage.Lovely at bathroom area The dining room was well serviced although food replenishment a little slow and a shortage of cutlery.The food was what we would expect for all inclusive but was not very warm, plenty of choice and freshly made. If you like your desserts they were a little ‘plastic’.The bar service was a little slow in all areas they would have benefitted from a few more bar staff.The noisy golfers were not a problem and as music stopped at 11pm it generally went quiet after that.The activities team were good no very friendly.Would we go again - yes.   Wonderful second stay

  This was our second stay at the hotel. We stayed for a week with a package booked with jet 2 on a bed and breakfast basis. We had a Ria View room on the ground floor with a patio area over looking the Ria. We paid extra for the Ria view room and had requested a ground floor that we had last time and the hotel were able to facilitate this which we were really pleased about thankyou. We love wildlife and were able to watch the birds feeding on the grass. In the evening we watched the bats and one night we saw a hedgehog. Our room was kept lovely and clean by the ladies who came every day and also replenished our water and tea and coffee. There is no milk provided here but we took a little bit from the breakfast buffet each day and kept it in the fridge. We only ate breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment on the rest of the food. Breakfast had a great choice but hot items could have been hotter. We ate in the area overlooking the Ria which was lovely especially enjoyed with a breakfast Cava! We went up to the rooftop one evening for a cocktail. Sitting on a lounger with the most amazing views was lovely. The cocktails tasted okay but were not very strong and expensive. There was hardly anyone else up there I wonder if an early evening happy hour would be a good thing?We walked into the village every evening to eat and had some lovely meals. I am vegetarian so places we chose were Gio Gabi, Royal Indian Tandoori, Botega Italiana and Gastrobar Serafim for snacks and lovely cocktails which are 4 euros during happy hour. We explored the area a bit more this time. We used the train with the station being about 30mins walk away from the hotel. We went to Faro for the day and another day went to Monte Gordo and got the ferry across to Spain. My favorite thing we did was walking into Tavira through the countryside. In Faro and during some of the train journeys we were able to see the Storks nesting. Getting out in the area we were able to see the lovely countryside and how green the area is which may not be what people think of when they think of the Algarve. We loved our second stay at the AP cabanas and would return. Whilst it does provide an all inclusive experience for those who want to relax at the hotel or golfing holidays the Ria view rooms provide a peaceful area that feels separate from the other parts of the hotel. If you prefer to do your own thing but want a very comfortable base to stay with stunning views.
