Location

This beach hotel is situated on a side road, some 500 m from both the beach, resort centre and a public bus stop. Guests at the hotel are just an easy walk away from the shops, bars and restaurants. The bus and train stations are a short walk away and Faro Airport is approximately 80 km from the hotel.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 15 apartments and 5 studios. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Services and facilities include a safe, a car hire service and a transfer service. Amenities include a drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. There are a number of shops as well. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Services include a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a queen-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe provides secure storage for guests' personal property. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, stovetop, microwave, tea/coffee station and oven. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

Guests can work out or just relax in the outdoor and indoor pools. Kids can splash about in a special swimming area just for them. Sun loungers and parasols on the terrace invite guests to relax and unwind. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the apartment hotel, including a gym and a solarium.

Meals

The hotel includes a restaurant and a bar. A delicious breakfast provides energy for the rest of the day.

    We had booked a superior apartment with 1 bedroom and terrace. Expectations were high, especially because of the beautiful photos and the score of no less than 8.9 on Booking.com.We were disappointed. The apartment belongs to an aparthotel, with several apartments, quite large. It has a very small living room on the ground floor with a terrace where no sun came. A very dated kitchenette with two old hobs, rust on the fridge and mold in the seams. It's noisy, you can literally hear the neighbors talking.On the first floor a large bedroom and bathroom. The roof terrace on the second floor consists of two small terraces, connected to each other.The whole thing is very dated and there is overdue maintenance, leaking faucets, broken door moldings, rust on bathroom lights, yellow toilet glasses, dirty toilet brush. It looked beautiful in the photos but they turned out to be misleading.Too bad because the location is good and parking nearby is possible.141,- per night we definitely didn't think it was worth it! We're not coming back.We reported something to the reception, showed photos, and also that we wanted to indicate it in a review on Booking.The lady at the reception responded that it was the first time she had heard it. That she would tell the manager and that we would hear about it.We heard nothing at all. Instead, we were surprised to see that our booking had been canceled by Baluarte apartments. Because we can't write a review? That's not how you deal with your customers.

    Excellent in everything Location perfect 5 minutes from old town a bit of climb to it but very manageable beautiful beach not far from apartment with fab board walkVery clean and very helpful staff with great recommendations for restaurants Definitely will stay there again

    Our 4th visit to Baluarte and it’s as good as ever. In a quiet spot at the top of the old town it’s scrupulously clean and elegantly furnished with lovely staff and well equipped apartments. A firm favourite and great value for money. We will be back !

    Great location, 5 mins walk from a great food spa. 5 mins walk to the centre of the shops and restaurants. Central Pandaria “bakery” just 5 mins away also which is a super value and great coffee / breakfast shop 3 doors down on the corner which smart contemporary and always busy.

    Mind blowing view from the roof top terrace

    If you can book the ocean view apartments do it, the roof top terrace view is mind blowing, we booked here thinking there would be a glimpse of the sea from a small balcony, but the apartments have not one but two seating areas on the terrace. With its proximity to the old town but with some separation in a quiet residential area, this apartment complex is amazing.
