  A Great Value Stay

  We have just arrived back from a week staying at Choro Mar and we had a lovely week.Initially we had read reviews that it was not clean, loud and not fit for purpose however we found anything but this. Our apartment was clean and spacious. A few days prior I had emailed the Hotel asking if we could have a quieter apartment as despite being four young men, we were not staying for the party atmosphere, more preferring long days in the sun, a late dinner and a glass of wine before bed. The Hotel obliged this request and we got an apartment on one of the sub blocks (They can be quite far from the main block so be prepared to walk!)Just as a word of caution, there is no lift in the block so you do have to climb stairs.The beds in the apartment are really comfortable and there is extra pillows and blankets if needed.The apartment was silent at night save for the sounds of crickets outside and it was quiet during the day even with people enjoying the pools.The block had its own pool shared between the other apartments and it was always quiet as well as being well maintained and clean.There is ample parking in the area though you may sometimes needs to park around the corner from your apartment block as it is in high demand. Whilst the stay was great, we did have a couple of very minor bits of feedback.The 300€ deposit on arrival seemed quite excessive however we did understand that with the amount of unruly groups the Hotel has to protect itself from the risks.The oven in the Apartment is labelled as deactivated and the hob failed to get hot which can be quite irritating when you are self catering as we only had a microwave, kettle and toaster however with the heat we mainly stuck to small cold foods instead so it wasn’t a major issue for us.Finally we did find two cockroaches in the apartment on arrival, it was very late at night when we checked in and the balcony door had been left open to air the apartment since 3pm so we do give benefit of the doubt here that they came in through the open door in that time. No other insects where found however so it truly was a one off.Overall, our stay was comfortable, quiet, great value for money and most importantly, relaxing. We would definitely choose to stay here again if we were visiting the area.

  I wanted to give this hotel 5 stars because of some of the negative reviews, I found the staff very friendly the apartment's were very spacious and very clean, yes the apartment's are a little out of the way but only a 10 minute walk from the strip and 15mins from the new town centre, we used the uber taxi's and it only cost around 2 to 3 euro's per trip, the surrounding neighbourhood was not rough and we walked into the town on many occasion and our ages are 66,67 and 71 my fiends and my self will certainly be booking again in the future Choromar team, Diretor-Geral at Choromar Apartments, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback about us and the resort.   Located in a not very nice residential area about a 20 min walk to supermarket and a little further to the lively "strip", but a taxi ride to the Old Town,Marina and Fishermans Beach all which are lovely, Thankfully Ubers are quick and reliable.The apartments were at best BAD. Old and very dated, the whole place urgently needs a complete refurbishment.Our apartment, the oven was not connected, the TV didnt work and the shower just sprayed water wherever it wanted. Managed to get the tv fixed with limited chanels, but had to make do with the rest.Our approach was to leave in the morning everyday and not return until time for bed.Place was big & clean to a point & towels were changed,We had a few comfortable nights sleep to begin with, think there wasnt anyone else close by, but the last 3 nights were awful as we could hear snoring, peeing, chairs pulled along the floor, everything really which disturbed our sleep so not great.In our opinion stay clear of these apartments Choromar team, Diretor-Geral at Choromar Apartments, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback.We are pleased that you found the apartment spacious and that cleanliness and towel service met your expectations.Regarding your comments, we would like to clarify that our property was renovated in 2017, and we continue to improve our facilities through ongoing maintenance and staff training.   Never want to return!

  I've never stayed in a place like it and I hope to god I never do again!The most unwelcoming reception I've ever had demanding 300euros in cash per room and receptionist claiming she could be the devil!On the plus side the rooms were large and clean, on the negative side was like walking into a time warp of the 1950s, lights not working fan in bathroom not working, cooker condemned and disconnected, safety deposit box lock drilled out, dark, depressing and if you wanted to watch tv extra for the remote, if you want air con guess what....extra for the remote in fact everything was an extra charge a list hung near reception along with fines!Cleaners change the towels every couple of days but they need to be instructed on how then to lock the doors again!On the last morning we even found we had a visitor in the room in the form of a cockroach, wonder if he had to pay the 300euros?Went to the bar twice, no eye contact on either occasion and certainly no smile, furniture in the bar area stank and uncomfortable.Your miles from the town it is walkable but ubers are cheap, the surrounding areas are just built up nothing nice at all.On checking out I feel the play the waiting game banking on the fact you have a flight to catch to make you leave without the deposit, arrive early stand and wait!I'd close by saying if its cheap and 'not' cheerfull your after then this'll fit the bill perfectly.   Location is 20 mins walk from drinking areas, 40 from old town. uber taxes are cheap and reliable. Room was spacious and clean., quiet. good night sleep.
