    0DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!Was booked for 10/4/25-10/7/25Notified the hotel by email and Facebook webpage of our late arrivalWhen we arrived the receptionist smirked and said “you did not check in during check in hours, your reservation is canceled and is nonrefundable”He did not care that we had no place to stay at 1:30 am I showed him my emails to the hotel regarding our late arrival He did not careI contacted Expedia Expedia contacted the hotelSame responds Nonrefundable

    Only a budget hotel but great location just away from the hustle and bustle of the centre Spotless inside maids everyday Rooftop pool and breakfast area fantastic views over Albufeira !! Just watch out for seagulls pinching your break !!! Five minutes walk into the square ideal for me

    Where do I start, we booked a package holiday with a late flight which meant a late check in. As the hotel requested a email advising of late check which was 10.30pm. Their desk closes at 8pm but managed 24 hours a day?. When we arrived we were told that no room for you! ROOM gone. We advised the member of staff we emailed as requested by the hotel to advise of late check in. No there was nothing he could do! Come back at 9am in the morning to speak to manager! We asked for the manager but no manager around even though he was on the phone to someone. I asked if I could see my booking on the computer but he was very reluctant but eventually he did. My booking was there!, we refused to leave and advised we shall be sleeping on the sofas in reception as no where to go. I contacted Love holidays to advise them, they said to go back to the airport as safe there!. I advised the member of staff at the hotel and love holidays I was a diabetic and I needed to eat, drink and take medication but they didn’t care. All of a sudden the police turned up and escorted us of the premises. We were not aggressive or violent!! The police advised us of a couple of hotels which could have room. We walked up a hill in the dark at 1am in the morning. The hotel was in pitch black, eventually we called a cab and he was so lovely. He took us to a hotel which had room. We are now trying to claim back the money for the booking of Hotel de Gale but no because of late check in!!!!!!

    DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL !! I arrived at this hotel 12.15am to be told at the reception desk that we are down as a no show and that my room had been sold again. Prior to this we informed the hotel two weeks in advanced and then again a week later. I then asked to speak to a manager and was told no. I then said we have paid to stay here for a week bed and breakfast. We were told we were supposed to give 24hours notice before arriving and that we were not getting into the hotel and was told to find another hotel. I contacted Expedia and they are currently investigating the hotel. We had to find another hotel and pay again for the week. I returned the next day to speak to the manager who was very arrogant and ignorant. He expressed no sympathy and said it was his policy. The hotel I found told me he does this on a regular basis to everybody and does not understand how he gets away with this as well as resell the rooms. I advise anybody to avoid this hotel. Check in opens 2 till 8 pm so any arrivals before 2 this time have to wait. If you arrive after 8 pm you are turned away and refused your stay.

    AVOID AVOID UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES.Where do I start? Hotel da Gale might be the worst place I’ve ever stayed — and I’ve been in hostels with actual rats.No air-con in the rooms in 30+ degree heat? That’s not budget travel — that’s borderline inhumane. The place smells like bleach, the pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the Euros, and the staff… well, don’t expect a warm welcome.Two of the guys working reception had an attitude like they were guarding the gates of heaven — staring everyone down, barking orders, not letting us bring anything into room. acting like letting guests bring food or a drink to their own room would collapse the hotel. Spoiler: it might — the place is barely standing as is.We lost our €60 deposit over damage that was already there when we checked in. Classic scam move. One of our mates showed up on the second night (booked, paid, name on the reservation) — and they still tried to block him from coming in. What kind of operation is this?The best part of the hotel? Leaving it. Or maybe the cracked tiles in the hallway — really adds that “abandoned asylum” aesthetic.I wouldn’t stay here again if it was free. Actually, I’d pay not to.
