    Very smelly run down resort

    Stayed here for a week it was awful very run down and there seemed to be a constant smell of sewage inside and outside the apartment. No comfort in the apartment we stayed in no 65 no curtains on windows which meant bright light from 6.30 am every morning. Your not allowed to flush toilet paper which means you have to store your used loo roll in the bin so unhygienic and it add to the stink of the place.Furniture and appliances very cheap quality adding to the lack of comfort no security which means excessive noise from parties in other apartments and villas near by AVOID IF YOU WANT A RELAXING WEEK OF COMFORT PLAVE IS A DUMP

    Don’t bother to come to this resort unless you wish to go deaf. The constant relentless noise of leaf blowers and strimmers means you never get any peace on a sun lounger. The operators wear ear defenders and do not care. You can’t speak to friends, they cannot hear. One stops, the next starts. They blow leaves into the hedges which the wind distributes in 5 mins of them leaving. Use a broom!

    The resort is set within the luxury avenues of Quinta do lago. Huge mansions, manicured lawns. It is quite breathtaking. A word of caution, there is a fair bit of construction work happening and we lost water on one morning for 3 hrs and another day the electricity went out for an hour. There is also a little bit of noise from 7am onwards but it is not too much. The roads often have temporary traffic lights. The resort was fairly quiet and not too much in the way of activities. Just a pool and a couple of tennis courts. We enjoyed the peaceful lake nearby but the beach is a fair way away and if you’re wet from the sea it’s a long way to lug everything back especially in the soaring heat. I’d probably not go back with teens as they would need a bit more energy and a local shop within walking distance would be better. A games room would have been ideal

    Spotless clean apartments on 1st floor. Very spacious and private Quiet area and very few around the pool area which we never used as we preferred the beach which is 10 mins walk along the boardwalk Staff friendly and rooms cleaned towels replaced daily and also fresh bread daily and welcome pack on arrival Will recommend to friends

    Stayed in a ground floor apartment. Very spacious and pretty clean. Nice sized private garden.Generally a good resort but accommodation & pool area is dated. Feels like it is badly in need of freshening up.Reception is only open from 9.30am which is quite inconvenient when checking in/out early.At over €400/night for family of 4, I will probably look elsewhere when visiting QDL next time.
