Location

This hotel is centrally located in the tourist area of Albufeira, within 1.5 km of the nearest beach. A good selection of shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants as well as lively nightclubs are also less than 1 km from the hotel. The old town is approximately 15 minutes' walk away and links to the public transport network also lie within easy walking distance. The airport is some 35 km from the hotel.

Facility

12 suites, 3 single rooms and 180 double rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the garden view from a balcony or terrace. Sport

The freshwater pool complex includes indoor and outdoor pools, which are in part heated, as well as a children's swimming area. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. A sun terrace, sun loungers, and parasols are available. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sport and leisure programme, which includes crazy golf and golf. For a fee, guests can also enjoy cycling/mountain biking and tennis. With water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, snorkelling and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. A wide range of indoor sporting activities are also offered, for example table tennis, billiards and darts or, for a fee, a gym, squash and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a hammam and a solarium and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a steam bath and massage treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy an entertainment programme.

Meals

The dining area includes a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board, full board and all-inclusive. At breakfast and dinner, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    Great location, great sized bedrooms, Diego was great in the bar in the evening, I would definitely recommend.A wee extra note, we had a problem with the drain in our shower, maintenance arrived within 10 mins to fix it.

    Holiday Inn Algarve Albufeira by IHG, Albufeira.On checking in with my group of seven travellers, I was informed that I had an additional room so two of the guests could each have their own. I immediately told reception this was not correct and showed them my booking confirmation, which clearly stated six rooms. Despite this, the receptionist insisted we had seven rooms and that the extra one was free. Even after I questioned it again, she gave me the key, so the room was used for two nights.On the third day, the hotel manager approached me and told me I had to pay for the room. His manner was sharp and accusatory, as if I had deliberately taken the room without permission. I explained the situation, but he continued to insist I must pay. He was extremely rude and made me feel like a thief. There was no attempt at customer care, no willingness to investigate what had happened, and no consideration that the mistake came from his own staff.For an international hotel group, the Holiday Inn brand deserves better than a manager who behaves in such an uncaring and accusatory way. The experience was dreadful, and I will not consider using the Holiday Inn again unless I receive a formal apology.     We spent a week in Portugal and chose Holiday Inn Algarve Albufeira by IHG for our stay, and we didn’t regret it for a single minute. It was truly one of the best hotels we have stayed in during our recent travels — simply perfect.The room was huge, with a very comfortable bed. The only small downside were the pillows, which were extremely high, but I solved it by using a smaller cushion from the sofa. The bathroom was excellent — spacious, with both a shower and bidet, and fully stocked with toiletries: shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner, and body lotion in large sizes, which was a very nice touch.The balcony was fantastic, with incredibly comfortable chairs — honestly the most comfortable balcony furniture we’ve ever had in a hotel. Everything felt new and modern, as the hotel has been recently renovated.The room also included a fridge, coffee machine, and kettle. The only thing missing were proper coffee cups — only large mugs for tea were provided, but we managed. There was also a free safe, a small sofa (convertible if needed), and excellent soundproofing — we didn’t hear any noise at all.The elevators were fast and efficient — we were on the 4th floor and reached our room in seconds. The reception area was beautiful, with sofas, a small library corner, a microwave area, 24/7 free water, small convenience items for purchase, and even a Starbucks coffee machine.The restaurant was wonderful. We had breakfast included — the selection was not huge, but everything was fresh and very tasty, and more than enough for us. We also had dinner twice in the restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious. Special thanks to the restaurant manager for organizing such a great experience.The bar area was also great, with excellent bartenders and a very relaxing atmosphere. The hotel has several swimming pools located in peaceful areas surrounded by greenery and trees — it felt like being in nature with birds singing everywhere. The pools were not heated, so the water was quite cold, but in the heat it was still very refreshing.Finally, the reception team was outstanding — kind, helpful, and always welcoming. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable.

    A decent hotel

    Stayed with my wife and 9 month old son. Hotel was up a slight hill, about a 15 minutes walk away from the strip / 20 minutes opposite direction to old town. Staff were great and friendly. Breakfast was decent, although beans were only on once, but had enough for a basic fry up and some ham, cheeses and croissants. One let down for us was that the indoor pool was closed for most of our stay. We booked the hotel specifically as it had an indoor pool. The date for it opening got pushed back twice when we were there. On the last day, when we did get to use it, it was nice and a good temperature. The only really upsetting part of the hotel / trip. All in all, a good hotel, but do be warned it is up a hill when walking back from the bars and restaurants.

    Absolutely fantastic hotel . We got upgraded to a 1 bed suite which was amazing .The hotel is just outside the centre but only a few euros on an Uber to the old town . It was a very chilled out hotel Staff were lovely and service amazing . Food and drink all good . We will definitely be back
