    "HI HOSTEL" aka "YOUTH HOSTEL"

    This is marked as "Youth Hostel" from the street so dont bother looking for a Hi Hostel sign! This hostel was ok, the location was great right in the heart of town only steps away from the bars and restaurants and a 15 minute walk to the beaches. The downside to this location is it is very noisy at all hours which made it difficult to sleep at times.The hostel breakfast is skimpy but is enough to tide you over. You are only allowed 2 pieces of bread, 1 piece of cheese, and 1 piece of ham, but you can also have a bowl of cereal of needed. The hostel itself was very clean and had a spacious outdoor patio area.

    I'm sorry but I just didn't like this place. I'm a Hostelling International member and have been hostelling for about 10 years now ... this location doesn't live up to today's standards. It is quite old and dated, the rooms were very cold, no heat, the mattresses were old, soft and worn out, pillows and linens too. The common room was nothing more than a pool table surrounded by wooden benches with some old cushions to try to make them more comfortable. The bathroom door had no lock, the showers stalls had no doors. The kitchen was barely equipped, no kettle, the pans were old, warped, pitted aluminum, only a few utensils. And nothing looked clean. Breakfast was passable but very institutional. The location is good and the staff were generally fine but I would definitely recommend making another choice. There are plenty of other hostels, far better than this one.

    BEDBUGS!!

    Unfortunately my friend and I have stayed for 1 night in this dirty hostel. First of all, it impossible to understand why the check in is at 6pm. it does't make sense cause they don't even make the beds. Secondly, we woke up around 4am cause we felt something running in our beds and some bites in our legs. There we go, we found bedbugs!!We spoke with the guy on reception and there weren't option to move to another room so we had to sleep the rest of the night at the living room of the hostel in some kind of couch. Definitely we wanted our money back. It is crazy to pay around 30€ for sleeping in a infected bed and then in an uncomfortable couch at the common areas.The worst night ever and the most irresponsible hostel manager who said that we are not going to get our money. Hope nobody will sleep in this dirty hotel!!!

    it is 20 minutes far from the train station by walk, and hostel has a really good location 5 munites to beach 2 munites to main square. staff is nice and helpful, they dont charge for the lockers. cleaning was not perfect but it was okey and you can use the kitchen. dont forget your air plugs because the street of the hostel really loud during the night. you will fall in love with lagos!
