    Cheap and not so cheerful

    If you are looking for luxury, this hotel is not for you. Built in 1987 it seems it has not changed since then, in fact time team were in recording an episode when we were there. I’ll start with the positives.. it’s cheap, reasonably clean and some staff friendly enough. Negatives.. the location is not the best. There is a busy road that runs along one side of the hotel which makes the rooms on that side noisy. Rooms are very basic and dated. Electricity tripped whenswitched on the kettle. Ran out of hot water. , in all fairness I should have done more research before booking. Would I stay there again.. no. Oh there was also a dog barking for hours a day in one of the rooms on our side. In conclusion..this hotel is in serious need of upgrading.If you are just looking for someplace to crash I guess it would be ok but , but be warned, the beds are rock hard. 😂😂

    Apartments were large but very run down. I was in 302 very noisy and dark. I was alone and asked to be closer to friends,before I came i emailed but was not adhered too.Staff were incredibly miserable and very rude. Would not go there again Silchoro Apartamentos, Proprietário at Silchoro Apartments, responded to this review Thank you for your review,We are sorry you did not enjoy your recent stayI emailed you that the hotel would do their best to have apartments near eachother however this would depend on our availability on the day, we managed to have two apartments right next door and one on the 3rd floorI also checked and tryed again for you the next day however there was no apartments on the same floor Staff are very friendly and do their very best to ensure guests have an enjoyable stayKind Regards,Silchoro

    I had a very bad experience at Silchoro Apartments. The apartment sheets are supposed to be changed within the week and new towels are supposed to be given too, not once did our room be cleaned. We brought our own rubbish bags down to the bins at the side of the apartments because nobody was coming to clean the apartment. Myself and my girlfriend went down to ask for 2 new towels and were asked to wait 3 hours for new towels, then we said why should we have to wait surely towels should be here, then were told one hour. When we went back to get towels a bald man was there. I said I am here for towels and he sighed and said yeah I know rudely. This man isn’t very nice at all. When I was checking out this man just took the key and said no words. Very unprofessional manner and will not be staying here again due to the lack of cleanliness and customer service lacking. 1 week stay with no clean sheets at all! Absolutely appalling!     Good location , staff friendly , large rooms with every thing you need . Yes maybe some updating would be good but generally a good standard for the price . Used Ubers to visit old town - very reasonable ( 3-5 euros ) handy supermarkets near by - no issue with deposits at all , just charged tourist tax of 2 euro per night per person . Rooms were huge . Microwave , kettle , fridge freezer. Good value for what we paid - obviously end of season and quiet - staff helpful and friendly

    It’s a hard one as we book here based on reviews not being to bad, so can’t really hold the hotel responsible for that.We book a late trip myself and my wife so went cheap and cheerful but unfortunately there was nothing cheerful.We book a new place first day so just had one night here.Old, unclean and surrounding area is rundown. (My wife felt unsafe walking around)We had a balcony view of a rubbish pile.I would also hazard a guess locals live in the hotel.To be fair had little interaction with the staff as we did not stay only comment could be they didn’t look surprised or even question why we would check out after one day.As I said it was our mistake booking here I am just trying to save someone else looking for a couples trip in a nice area of the city to not make the same mistake. We were lucky to be able to book something else.
