  Tarik Accommodation in Portimão, Portugal I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay.The apartment was extremely dirty on arrival. There was a strong, unpleasant smell as soon as I entered, and it was clear that the property had not been properly cleaned or prepared for guests. It was very uncomfortable and not what was advertised.I arrived at around 1:00 AM after a long journey, and I was then told at the reception that I had to work approximately 15 minutes to reach my apartment, even though there was a reception desk in the same building where my apartment was located. This was completely unacceptable and very poorly organized, especially at that time of night. I was traveling with my 12-year-old son, and being asked to walk in a foreign country at 1:00 AM with a child was extremely stressful and disappointing. There was no proper organization, no clear communication, and no consideration of respect shown to guests.I would not recommend Tarik accommodation in Portugal, Portimão and would not stay here again.

  The hotel room itself was nice. There isn't 2 lifts one of them was having maintenance the full week I was there and if you like to have an afternoon nap there's no chance with the banging and drilling. The hotel is very noisy at night from dogs barking the lift dinging and people opening and shutting doors. There is certain times in the day when staff are there most of the time its just deserted and looks like a building site the picture with the red chairs that is all blocked off. The staff are not really helpful when we got there the 1st thing the staff said was check in 3pm when we asked if we could leave our suitcase he made it look like we was putting him out. When it was 3pm we went to check in and he asked where our room key was we informed him we hadnt checked in yet he put a lady on the phone who explained we had to walk to another hotel to get the room key which is a 16 minute walk one way when we got our key and paid the €200 euro damage deposit they said we could leave the key in our hotel room as we was leaving at 3am then on the last day we asked again about the key and the same lady informed us that we had to bring the key back to the other hotel due to the policy changing luckily our transfer took us to drop the key off. When we returned with our key the guy on reception looked at the room number and said 16th floor there's the lift. The rooms get cleaned every 7 days you have to pay extra for fresh towels. When the sun starts to go down there is a swarm of birds that fly around the hotel balconys which again if you like a nap its hard with the birds chirping constantly. There is no balcony seating unless you put the little table and chairs they provide in the room outside. If there is more than one person in the room you can't shower after each other as the water doesn't stay hot so need to wait about an hour in-between showering the shower pressure is great the cubicle is really small if you are a larger person.There are lots of shops and restaurants when you walk up the little hill there is also a super market to buy the essentials. The beach is a short walk away. Overall portimao is a beautiful place but I would not stay in this hotel again.

  This is our third time here as the location is fantastic if you are a beach lover!The apartments are in a residential block that is really clean, and always smells nice.Everyone should be aware that you have to register, pay your tourist tax and 200 euro deposit at another hotel, the plaza real, which is approx 3/4 mile walk away ( we just get an uber there and back). There is no tourist reception in The Tarik, and the concierge does not speak English, so any issues need to be reported to the plaza real.The apartments all have kitchenettes with hob, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and kettle. They are basic apartments but have good sized bathrooms and comfy beds.Our balcony did not have any furniture on it this time. It did not bother us as the nights were quite cool during our stay so did not use balcony.There is a supermarket 50 metres from the apartments, with restaurants, bars and the beach 100 metres away, up a hill. Access to beach is down steps, as is most of the Algarve ,so not good for anyone with walking difficulties.But if you want a basic, clean apartment i would recommend the tarik.

  Great location - just a bit basic

  Location was spot on, 300 metres to the beach and all the restaurants and bars. Although basic for the price we paid we had everything we needed a bed and shower!Only downside was having to collect the key from another hotel but our transfer was happy to take us there and wait while we checked in - which was a massive help as it was midnight when we arrived.

  Was in room 1906 19th floor what a view.Studio was amazing.Comfy bed very clean,small kitchen with everything you need.Wonderful stay and would highly recommendThankyou to the TtarikIshbell
