Location

This city hotel is located at the hearts of the old and picturesque tourist area of Lagos. Countless bars, cafés, nightclubs and restaurants are located in the immediate vicinity. Convenient public transport links may be found within 200 metres of the hotel. The nearest beach, "Meia Praia" is 2 km away and Faro airport is around 80 km from the hotel.

11 suites and 313 double rooms are located on 5 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities.     Decrepit, dirty and dated. Quite possibly the most awful hotel I’ve stayed in. Absolutely nowhere near a four star. The sun beds and pool area are an insult to guests they are absolutely filthy, broken and torn . Quite unbelievable that any hotel would offer these. Window dirty and the first room I was offered the bed was soiled. If I had not been with a walking tour I would have checked out immediately. The staff particularly Rafaela and Anabela did the best they could to assist. Management must walk around with their eyes closed the place needs power washing from head to toe.     This is very old and outdated hotel. The pictures are misleading and the experience on arrival was disappointing.This is not a 4* experience and very expensive for what you get.     WORST experience! Beware of bait & switch with rooms that are nothing like the photos … and MOLD!

    I would give this hotel a ZERO star if I could. I booked 2 superior rooms for my Aunt’s 75 birthday trip from the US based on the images and description of the room, property and amenities. When we arrived after a long day of travel, our room was anything but superior! The rooms looked NOTHING like the images other than the “layout” - the building our rooms were located was extremely rundown! Our rooms had peeling paint on the walls, mold all over the bathrooms, AC unit with dust (and probably mold!) hanging off it and our balcony faced a parking lot with a row of port-o-potties lined up. Further, I specifically booked this hotel for access to their “beach club” and was told while checking in that the club would be closed all 3 days of our stay at 2pm for private events - this was not disclosed to me when booking and was the prime reason I booked it! Which also by the way did not offer beach chairs until JUNE - again something that was not disclosed! It had a beachside, rundown pool with about 10 chairs and a dingy basic bar - AND THEY CHARGED US $20 Euros for 2 chairs - they were not included for guests of the hotel! I mean, how can you promote beach club access and not tell people it’s extra for any chairs?!? When I went to guest relations after checking in about all these obviously upsetting issues, I was met with an “oh well” attitude because I booked a non-refundable room rate and the hotel was full. I told them this was unacceptable given the extremely dirty & dingy room and that we’d be checking out immediately to which I was told I would still have to pay for 2 of the 4 nights we booked. I get that hotels have policies - but when a room is so clearly NOT represented even remotely the same in photos as in person with visible MOLD and you don’t allow us to checkout / cancel our charges, it’s a gross abuse of policy. This hotel is part of a chain under Minor Hotel group and as a die hard Hilton member, I would expect a chain to have more respect for guests concerns, especially this egregious. We had to stay the first night because it was so late when we checked in we couldn’t find a suitable alternative that quickly and I woke up super sick & have been sick for 5 days now since staying that one night - it ruined the rest of my trip having to be on 24-hour cold medicine! All this is to say, if this hotel does not refund me my entire amount since I filed a claim with American Express - I will make it my mission as a head of marketing to make sure I spread this experience on all my social media and influencer partners! We do understand your dissatisfaction regarding the room view and regret that this aspect did not meet your expectations.As explained at the time, your reservation was made under a non-refundable policy.     Great Value Stay in Lagos – Modern Rooms, Excellent Breakfast & Perfect Location

    Tripadvisor Review:We stayed at Tivoli Lagos Algarve Resort in March, before the resort was renamed to NH Lagos Algarve Resort. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and thought the hotel offered excellent value for the price we paid.The resort is quite large and in a very good location, within walking distance to the center of Lagos, which made it easy and convenient to explore the city. We also appreciated the free parking and the fact that the area felt very safe.Some parts of the resort still feel old and would benefit from a more complete renovation, but you can already see that upgrades have been done in certain areas. Our room was modern, comfortable, and nicely updated.One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the breakfast. There was a great selection of food and many seating areas. We are not rating it as a perfect luxury five-star experience in terms of facilities and overall condition, but considering the price we paid, we honestly felt we received more than expected. A very good stay overall and a great base for visiting Lagos and the Algarve.     We stayed here as part of our Portugal tour through Globus Journeys. I can not say how disappointed I was with this hotel. Shabby! Dirty! Uncomfortable! Just choose another hotel. Sadly, we had no choice.
