Location

This hotel is located on a hill close to the centre of Lagoa where guests will discover many shopping and entertainment venues. Public transport links, restaurants, as well as bars, Shopping venues, nightclubs and the coastal beaches are all around 2 km from the hotel.

Facility

Guests can enjoy the pleasant ambience of one of the 22 villas/houses. The following room categories are also available: 15 suites and 39 double rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The resort has wheelchair-accessible facilities and a lift. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services and facilities include room service (for a fee), a laundry service and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service (for a fee). Bicycle storage is also available. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the garden view from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. Refreshing drinks are served at the poolside snack bar. For those who wish to stay active while on holiday, the resort offers tennis. Sport and leisure facilities at the complex include a gym, table tennis and billiards. There is a wellness area with a spa, a hammam, anti-ageing treatments and a solarium and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a steam bath, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy an entertainment programme.

Meals

The dining area includes a restaurant (with high chairs) and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options, picnics and snacks are available. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    We're just home from visiting the hotel for a week as a family of 2 adults and 2 children (12 & 10).Our villa was beautiful and so spacious! Our only suggestion here would be for more kitchen utensils please! We didn't have a chopping board or sharp knives available and we usually ate one small meal in our villa each day. Also no dish cloths or washing liquid was provided so we had to buy both and suspect most of this will have been thrown away by cleaners.Buffet breakfast was great - fresh fruit, cold meat and cheese, cooked breakfast and many bread and pastries available daily. We ate in the poolside restaurant one evening and found this to be convenient but wouldn't necessarily rush back for the price. Velvet bar had a great selection of drinks and snacks available at reasonable prices.We only used the main non heated pool but it was a lovely environment and we never had issues finding loungers available (visiting during May half term) at any time of day.We used the free shuttle bus to Carvoeiro and this was great for us to head out to watch the play off finals!Special shout outs to Telma who organised the most beautiful anniversary arrangement for myself and my husband 🥰 and to Carlos at the pool bar who was my son's absolute favourite when he remembered to ask how his team did in the football ⚽🥰 All in all a wonderful and peaceful break, a welcome change from the AI chaos we've been used to with children for the last few years!     I stayed at Hotel Vale D’El Rei in October 2025 and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the facilities were top-notch. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious. When we had a small issue with our booking (our fault), the staff were amazing — friendly, efficient, and genuinely eager to help.     If you're looking for holidays where silence "rings in your ears," you've come to the right place. Delicious breakfasts – fresh orange juice, salmon, a selection of hams, and wonderful fruit – were served at the poolside restaurant, where the water was 27°C in August and was swimming-friendly, thanks to its depth of up to 1.6 meters. Sunbeds were plentiful. At the rear of the resort is an even more intimate pool. The hotel grounds are spacious and resemble a well-maintained golf course, with beautiful wild birds roaming the grounds. Free parking is available in front of the hotel, with ample and sufficient spaces. Car rental prices at the hotel are similar to those in the market, although we used a rental company in Armacao de Pera (5 days for €100 + €75 insurance). Uber/Bolt transfers from the hotel to Armacao cost €6. The nearest restaurant is about 2 km away, but the hotel's Serenata offers à la carte options at similar prices. Small beer €3.00; Beirao €6.50. You can also choose from a buffet lunch and dinner from 6:30 PM for €30 per person. Delicious and worth the price. Beverages are extra, as is the local tax of €2 per day per person, and coffee capsules in the minibar for €1.50. Due to limited parking, it's better to take the hotel shuttle at 11:00 AM/1:30 PM or a taxi to the nearby beaches. However, we especially enjoyed Praia do Beliche, located about 60 km from the hotel (just above Sagres). The A22 motorway is currently toll-free both to Sagres and Faro. No transponder is required. Fuel at supermarkets is a few euro cents cheaper. Our greatest culinary discovery was 20km from Beliche Beach, in the middle of nowhere, with no mobile phone reception. There are old tenement buildings housing Sitio da Pedralva – a restaurant that looks like it has a Michelin star on the inside, and the cod in bread for 15 euros made us want to go back. It's the best Bacalhau we've ever had in Portugal, and it wasn't our first or second time.
