Location

This attractive beach hotel is situated directly next to a fine sand beach and surrounded by a pine forest and dunes making it the perfect location for water sports, fishing and hunting. This pleasant beach hotel is located in the tourist centre, just 300 m from the city centre. Plenty of shopping venues, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are located in the hotel's neighbourhood. Links to the public transport network are also to be found in the immediate vicinity.

Facility

The hotel has 46 suites and 137 double rooms, which are located on 6 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services such as a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. Guests are sure to get a good night's sleep in the double bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. The kitchenette comes with a refrigerator, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. Other features include a direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi. A hairdryer and a telephone are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products.     Amazing Sea Views

    Excellent location right by the beach and boardwalk which our room looked over. We stayed for 4 nights and chose a standard sea view room. Our room was spotless and fairly spacious with a good size balcony with amazing ocean views. We had everything we needed in the room but the furniture and bathroom are definitely dated, as is the hotel decor in general. Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice, hot selection could have been better but we definitely didn’t go hungry. Staff were efficient and polite but not overly friendly and welcoming. We would stay again due to the excellent location. A refurbishment would turn this hotel into something very special but as it is its value for money and comfortable.

    Perfect Hotel to relax

    The hotel is perfectly situated just a short stroll to the most amazing clean beach. From the moment you enter the hotel the cleanliness is evident the housekeeping staff do an amazing job, from cleaning your room ever day to changing the towels when needed. The hotel has adopted an environmental policy doing away with plastic in many areas of the hotel, to water saving in the rooms. The staff as always are very welcoming and happy to help. The food is of a very good quality and for all tastes, from breakfast various hot choices to continental and fresh fruit available. Dinner is much the same, choices of fish and meat dishes and freshly grilled food also salads pasta and an array of sweets every night. The restaurant and bar staff are very friendly and they went out of their way to make the holiday extra special for our two grandsons who had an amazing time.

    We love Monte Gordo and the Vasco Da Gama hotel. The location is beyond perfect. The beach is at the back of the hotel. Out the door along the board walk and onto the sand in 2 minutes.Plenty of shops and restaurants around the area. Bike, car hire and trip excursions can all be found right outside the front door. Lots of units at the beach front, all restaurants/bars. The hotel staff are amazing. Always helpful and cheerful. Rooms cleaned daily, towels are changed if you leave them on the bathroom floor. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxing. Reception staff are cheerful and helpful. The dining room staff are great and very cheerful. Happy hour is very busy and cocktails are the order of the day. Housekeeping staff are awesome and very amiable and great at what they do. In the bar there is traditional entertainment. The decor is very traditional. Some guests have said it's dated but it's perfectly traditional. It is spotlessly clean, swept and mopped every day. It's all shiny and beautiful. The Vasc da Gama is charming and you will want to go back again and again. We have been staying there for 8 years now. It's a special place for us.

    Really lovely hotel, very comfortable room. Lovely friendly staff. Surroundings are lovely and terrace is a great place to sit and relax with a drink. Great array of food for breakfast with something to suit everyone. Easy access from hotel along boardwalk to beach which was very close. Very reasonable price to stay here. I would certainly recommend to anybody.

    Myself and my friend went to Vasco de Gama for 4 nights. We were very impressed with the hotel and Monte Gordo. It was perfect for a chill out and a reset which we both needed. The food was lovely and a lot of choice. It was easy to find a sun bed around the pool and the beach was just in front of the hotel. I would happily stay at this hotel again. The staff were friendly and accommodating and there was nothing bad about the hotel. The area was great and only 3 miles from the river and a 15 min ferry ride to Ayemonte Spain. The beach of Monte Gordo was gorgeous and the sand was so white and pure with no litter. It was a quiet resort in April and would imagine it gets busy in the summer.Fantastic short break and would love to return one day.
