  Appalling Customer Service

  Let’s say that we didn’t actually stay here due to the horrendous customer service. We received an email confirmation for 15.00 check in and our room wasn’t available, after 15 minutes we were eventually offered “an upgrade” which it transpired was a dingy, musty inferior room with a tiny bed. When I returned to reception to discuss our disappointment I was told that the manager would speak to me. Another 20 minutes later he arrived and proceeded to tell me that the previous guest in our designated room checked out late, that he only had 2 cleaning staff and that was the reason for the delay and that our room was now ready. His attitude and the general lack of customer service lead to our decision to leave and request a full refund. This was met with the same cavalier attitude and rudeness, we were glad to move on to find an hotel with good customer service and cleanliness.

  Good hotel to stay, with great swimming pool

  We stayed here for 3 nights and it was great. I really don't know why they have negative reviews. The staff was very, very friendly and nice. The new director/manager Ivo helped us a lot, with gluten free food and overall great service. The card that you get from the hotel gives you entry to a lot of buildings in the village. There is a very pretty garden and swimming pool, a lot of different rooms to chill in with couches, a location where theres a pool table, a good restaurant. Breakfast buffet was great, a lot of variety. The wellness area could be updated, but they started with renovations already. Room could be a little cosier, but very comfy bed and good bathroom. Would 100% recommend this hotel.

  Very disappointing, very basic room albeit elegant. Spa was closed the bar also closed at 6pm. The staff answer to any request was No. Basic breakfast which there wasn’t enough of for all the guests. Iv never experienced hospitality like it in portugal. We checked out.

  Terrible experience at Central Suites Apartments in Monchique

  I had an absolutely terrible experience at Central Suites Apartments in Monchique, and I want to warn others before they make the same mistake.From the moment I arrived, things went wrong. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was the advertised SPA, only to be told upon check-in that it was not in operation. This was never mentioned before my booking. When I pointed this out, the receptionist defensively claimed they had sent me an email after I had already booked—completely unhelpful and misleading.I was also traveling with my dog and had to pay €25 per night. Normally, this wouldn’t be an issue, if anything had actually been provided—but there was nothing. No dog bed, no water bowl, no food bowl. Just an extra charge with zero effort to accommodate pets.Then came the real nightmare: the room. The air conditioning didn’t work at all. It was cold and rainy, and my room was freezing and damp. My clothes were constantly moist, and I was shivering the entire time. When I complained to reception, they didn’t care at all and just said that the problem affected the entire building instead of offering any alternative or compensation. The bed was awful—an old spring mattress, completely worn out, so much so that I could feel the metal springs digging into my back. I asked for a different bed, and they “offered” me another room, with the exact same terrible mattress.To make things worse: There was a plastic cover under the bed sheets, making sleeping even more uncomfortable.All bedding was cheap polyester, meaning I was sweating all night with no breathable fabric.Then, the service:The reception was frequently unattended, and when staff was there, they were uninterested and unhelpful. I was told I could get lunch at a nearby restaurant, only to later find out that there is no lunch service at all during this season.By the time I checked out, I politely and constructively addressed these issues, hoping for some acknowledgment or a small gesture of goodwill. Instead, I was met with complete indifference.I have traveled a lot, stayed in many hotels, and never experienced something this bad. Absolutely not recommended.

  Great natural location

  Nice hotel located in a great natural environment.The rooms are spacious but quite cold if you come in winter time or in a summer cold evening. There is no heating in the room.Breakfast is decent but lacks variety.The SPA is paid as an extra and it’s outdated. Too expensive for the quality of the service.
