Location

The hotel is located in the heart of Quinta do Lago. Restaurants, bars, nightlife and shops can all be found just a few kilometres away. The beach of Quinta do Lago is about 2 km away. Also in the vicinity is Ria Formosa Natural Park; with its variety of wildlife and exotic birds, it is a perfect spot for bird watching. Being only 30 min away from Faro Airport allows for a quick transfer.

Facility

The resort welcomes guests in a 3-storey building with a lift and 310 non-smoking rooms. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. A baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Other services include a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Bicycle storage is available to guests. There is a bike hire service as well. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. Guests can enjoy the garden view from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Valuables can be securely stored in a safe. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a DVD player and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and bathrobes are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

Guests can work out or just relax in the outdoor and indoor pools. Kids can splash about in a special swimming area just for them. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Sun loungers and parasols are available on the sun terrace. A variety of activities are available at the resort, for example crazy golf and archery or, for a fee, cycling/mountain biking and tennis. With snorkelling or, for a fee, windsurfing, banana boat rides, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning, diving, water aerobics and aquafit available, fans of water sports have plenty of options to choose from. Sport and leisure facilities at the resort include a gym, table tennis and billiards. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath and a hammam and, for an additional fee, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme (for a fee).

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant, a breakfast room and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. Lunch is served as à la carte, and guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu for dinner. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and picnics are available. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    We had a fantastic week at the Wyndham for the 2nd time with 12 golf friends. A great nice, comfortable and very welcoming hotel. The organisation also provided comfort and assistance in all respects. Even a birthday party has been made by Wyndham.     Excellent hotel with very professional,friendly staff . Breakfast was top class , something for everyone. We stayed in a 2bed apartment and it even had Irish stations on the tv which was a bonus . Will definitely be returning.     A very good 4 star, but not 5 star.

    I’ve stayed here a number of times over the past seven years and it’s a very nice hotel with professional and friendly staff, but I’m not convinced it’s 5 star. The food is decent but it’s definitely not 5 star standard at breakfast. The quality of the breads, pastries and meats, in particular the sausages/cooked meats definitely isn’t 5 star level. Overall it’s four star fare at breakfast in terms of content and quality and as another person said, the food rarely changes. This is all fine but there’s absolutely scope for improvement. They offer a pleasant sparkling wine at breakfast but no other brunch style alcoholic beverages.The rooms are nice but again more in line with a very good 4 star. A 5 star hotel would have more complimentary products. It’s a pity the outdoor pool has no heating capabilities (aside from natural sun!) and I don’t recall there being much in the way of poolside bar service or snacks. Would I stay again and/or recommend to friends? Yes, it’s friendly and you’re made feel welcome but hopefully the food at breakfast might be a little more refined and better quality and there may be better stock of complimentary drinks/snacks in rooms and not have to pay extra. That’s what you’d expect in a 5 star hotel.     Stayed here again at the end of February. Absolutely love the hotel, it's very stylish and the rooms are fabulous. Spacious with kitchen, living room areas, comfortable beds and great bathroom & additional shower room.The staff are brilliant. They are so friendly and welcoming. A special mention to Luz who is so helpful and always goes the extra mile. She is an asset to the hotel.
