    Noisy; disappointing

    Somehow I neglected to read the reviews: every one mentions the noise - it is loud and unrelenting for hours! We stayed four nights and received no housekeeping. Be sure to note that the hotel does not have an elevator! Breakfast was heart and satisfying. Staff, other than the woman who rescued us from the rain when we couldn’t find the location, seemed disinterested in helping.

    Room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Cool record players in the room. The location was close to the Dom Luis Bridge and the Porto waterfront. HOWEVER, it is also at the entrance to the tunnel, so constant noise. Very hard to sleep at night. As well, NO elevator. We were on the fourth floor. Typically not a concern, but after walking up and down all day, we were very tired when we returned to our room at night, and walking up the stairs was exhausting. Lastly, the bed was very uncomfortable. Time to change the mattress! I would stay somewhere else next time I visit.

    Great location and the complimentary breakfast was perfect!!! If you can’t climb stairs, this is not the place for you. We were there during the blackout and the staff made sure we were comfortable and happy even without power. It’s a great place. No view but it being a couple block from everything made it worth the trek up the stairs.

    Charming and sweet! Perfectly located in Porto, walkable to all the sights. We loved being in the heart of it all. The breakfast was fresh and delicious the strong coffee a bonus. The host was very engaging and helpful, answered all our questions and gave us a few suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing. I highly recommend !!
