Tiny hotel in half closed shopping mall

    rating25 Oct 2024

Interesting quaint hotel with a reception concierge lift lobby all-in-one in a tiny space of about maybe 20 sq meters. Hotel rooms are located on upper floors of a shopping mall. Interestingly, by taking the publicly accessible stairs, one can directly reach the hotel rooms - can make one feel a little unsafe. Room sound proofing is not great - can hear sounds from next door. No kettle in the room. Hotel breakfast very limited -- no eggs. Just some cheese, 2 types of ham, some cereals and yoghurt, and desserts. The mall itself unfortunately quite a number of shops are closed. There are several butcheries and several eateries. Only saving grace is the supermarket in the basement -- very convenient for snacks. For better shopping, need to walk (or take a bus) about 10-15 min up a slope to the big shopping mall with a Carrefour and other shops and a pretty decent Italian restaurant on its top floor. Can also walk about 30 mins to town square with the cathedral.

    Dated, dank shopping mall hotel

    rating13 Jul 2024

This hotel is in a rundown shopping center very far from everything in Santiago de Compostela. There is no transportation available and the hotel staff are not helpful. I ended up having to stay somewhere else to make a train the next day due to the lack of transportation.

    Good hotel for the price.

Firstly can I just say the Receptionists, Susi, Andrea and Juan were so friendly and helpful. They are a complete asset to this hotel as there is no bar or lounge area, so their attentiveness is a must. The hotel itself is in a shopping centre on the outskirts of Santiago. The walk to the Cathedral and centre is probably about 30 minutes and a lot of that is uphill. If you don't think you can manage the walk, there are regular buses outside hotel and also a taxi rank. The room we were allocated was a suite ( thank you for upgrade). It was very large and had a sofa area and there was a jacuzzi bath too. The shower head which was in the bath pointed towards the opposite end of the bath so bracket could do with being changed but that said, the water was always hot. The heating in the room was on a hotel timer and the radiators only came on at about 7.45pm, so the room was cold if you were showering before then. Maybe the management can look into changing this in winter/ spring months to an earlier time? The housekeeping was great with fresh towels and cleaning daily. The breakfast was Continental style with a good selection. My only problem was that the lady who worked on service etc had a very unfriendly manner about her. I arrived at 10.25 am on Monday morning for a cup of tea and just to have a Danish.(Breakfast served until 10.30 am)She rudely informed me that they were closed and when I asked could I take a cup of tea to my room( in my own mug) she told me it would cost me €2!! Considering there are no hospitality trays in the rooms I found that to be ridiculous. She was the only member of staff that let this hotel down. Otherwise it's a very affordable, clean hotel to stay in when in Santiago de Campostela.

    Hotel in a Ghost Town

    rating11 Sept 2019

There is nothing wrong with the hotel it was clean rooms little small but fine. Hotel staff very friendly and breakfast was continental buffet self service which was fine. The thing we found strange, it is located inside a mall that is too quiet. It’s like it’s closing down and all the popular chain stores have moved out already. There is a large supermarket down stairs Al Campo which is handy to have nearby. At night though there are two restaurants in the mall. One is a family run restaurant which was recommended but when we got there it was empty again too quiet. The other restaurant was a chain restaurant on the ground floor which had 4 people in it. We finally eat across the road at a bar which was very nice and seemed to be popular with locals. Easy to walk 30 minutes into the centre and around the hotel are places to park. Again hotel OK but it’s in a Ghost town.
