    No Air Conditioning in Room was moved twice before I was told that they shut it down and I should open my windows. Température in my room is 24 Degrees C which is 80 Degrees F. This is unexceptable, the only reason I'm still here for two days is because I'm on a tour. AVOID THIS PLACE.

    Our easyJet flight from Tenerife was diverted to Santiago. Quite late at night, the sudden arrival of unscheduled 180+ travellers was dealt with courteously and efficiently by the friendly staff. We were provided with a huge room with two king size beds. Buffet style breakfast was served in a bright room with tables of various sizes. Reception staff again helpful in ordering taxis for return to the airport.     What a great hotel. Even though it is 4.5km on the Camilo to the Cathedral, it is a short bus ride (number 6, 1 euro per person in Nov 24) to the old city. Large room. Great friendly staff. Highly recommended if we ever come this way again. We ended up dining in the restaurant here for two consecutive nights after trying others around the corner.     Well, for of all the position: they will tell you that the hotel is located "only" 3.4 km from the city center and that you can easily take a stroll to there. Well, as there is no continuous sidewalk, you'd better take a taxi if you want to make it alive to destination. This hotel seems an old Soviet hotel translated somehow in Spain: old building, old furniture, old everything. The elevator deserve a special mention: no indication at which floor it is located, the only indications are an arrow point up, an arrow pointing down, and a double arrow (meaning unknown). With a room located on the 5th floor, the day of departure, after waiting for 25 minutes for the elevator to stop at my floor (it never did), I had to carry by hand my 20kg luggage down the stairs for 6 floors to the breakfast room and then another floor up to the lobby. Luckily enough I am young, but guess if the same had happened to somebody with de ambulation problems or simply elder than me. What a shame.     Stayed at this hotel as a family of three - the accommodation is perfect and location is a 40 minute walk from the centre. The food was lovely and the staff pleasant. Nice bar that had the euros on and nice reasonable priced drinks- we can recommend.
