This historic city hotel is located in the old part of the city of Santiago, on Obradoiro Square. All the remarkable monuments of the city can be easily reached on foot, such as the cathedral, the town hall and the Colegio de San Xerome.     Overpriced and not happy with construction site room, as my view.

    I have to say, after my recent parador review just recently, on the Camino, I was hoping this one was going to blow me away.but alas no.The place is beautiful. Historic. Great location.Our view was directly on a construction site.We finish the Camino. So excited to be at the parador. Want to rest and relax, the room is so damn stuffy, we have to open the window, and all you hear are workers, and we are directly above their site.I honestly can NOT believe they put someone in this room for this price.This is now the second horrible experience we have had with a Parador.However. Expensive for what it is, and hotel has no amenities.Room is dated.Bathtub and shower are death traps, so slippery, and floor.Room was too hot.Bed and sheets comfy.Breakfast ok, coffee terrible. Warm hot churros were old.This hotel is name only. It’s overpriced. Totally.     What an incredible experience to stay in a piece of world history directly next to St James Cathedral. The hotel is exquisite from the modern, clean, comfortable rooms to the friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend!     If was very nice to stay in such an historic building set right on the square with the cathedral and with such beautiful features and charming public rooms. Our bedroom was spacious but, in quite a dark corner on the ground floor, it could have done with some heating. Friends had a third floor room in full sunlight which could have done with some cooling. Both rooms had a heating and air conditioning system but the whole system in the hotel was switched off on the excuse that it was an unseasonably warm day. Silly,We had a very good dinner in the restaurant, where the service was even better than in the hotel.Quite expensive, but good value overall.     The hotel is terribly expensive and overrated for what is provided. Room was dingy and worn. Temperature was too warm. Bathroom is very unsafe, the bathtub and shower are death traps, very serious accidents just waiting to happen!
