  Very disappointing stay – avoid this placeI had a really bad experience at Chameleon Hostel Alicante.First, the location is not convenient at all, far from the main attractions and not pleasant, especially at night.The service was poor – staff were not helpful and didn’t seem to care about guests’ comfort.The rooms are extremely small, with no privacy, which makes it very uncomfortable if you’re staying more than one night.Worst of all, the place is dirty and poorly maintained. As you can see from the photos: • Mold and humidity around doors and walls • Rusty fixtures and broken finishes • Poor hygiene in generalIt honestly feels neglected and far from acceptable standards.I would definitely not recommend this hostel. There are much better options in Alicante for the same price or even cheaper

  How to be discriminated in 2023

  The woman working in the front kicked me out because of my race. Yup, in 2023. Discrimination is a serious thing... I hope this place takes it seriously and fire that woman. If they do please contact me and I'll remove my review, I didn't stay since she kicked me out... it hurts to be treated like that.

  Receptionist is super rude

  Terrible lady that works as a receptionist. Racist. Unhelpful. Rude.We decided to go to another place and cancel our reservation after talking with her for 3 minutes. I don't understand why they'd hire someone like that... the place looked fine.

  No 24 hour service, terrible customer service

  (Background- I booked this through the Agoda app) I arrived at the hostel at 12:30am (which I included in the special requests section of my booking, although didn’t think it was necessary) and no one was there. The doors were locked, the doorbell went unanswered and all 3 phone numbers they had listed in on the door in case someone needed something went unanswered. I ended up having to call seven other hotels at 1am to find an available room and payed another $80 on top of what I had already paid for with my booking. I also had to walk an extra 30 minutes in an unfamiliar city at 1:30am as a woman alone. Now I know that not all properties have 24 hour reception, but I have never in all the countless hotels and hostels I’ve stayed in all around the world experienced one where they don’t have someone at least on call 24 hours. I think its ridiculous not to have someone available in case of something like this 24 hours a day, and if they do decide not to at least make it very clear when booking. I submitted a complaint and they wouldn’t even refund me the $13.50 I paid for a bed I never even got to see. Thankfully Agoda refunded me and were very helpful. This might not be an issue for many people, but it put me in a very stressful and potentially dangerous situation.

  I stopped for 2 night here. Good hostel. Very good breakfast and adorable people at reception. 4 stars just because the kitchen it's closed after 22. Also, for air conditioned in the room we need to pay 2 euro))
