  Wonderful Stay

  Fantastic stay! From the moment we arrived, Amy at the front desk made our stay more then we could have ask for; from giving directions to local attractions to recommending dinner options - she was top notch.Our room was 104 with some recent updates. Great shower, very very clean ( immaculate) actually. Nice, bright and crisp sheets. Bed was comfortable and nice fluffy pillows. Location was great - close to everything we were going to.Great value and ample parking.Hotel was full but nice and quiet - never heard a sound all night.Thank you Amy for making this a wonderful stay.   Great staff, clean and comfortable

  This hotel appears to be in an industrial area. It is close to the highway so easy access for sightseeing. All the staff we encountered were really nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. We didn't use the pool but it appeared very clean. There was easy access to a very good, affordable Thai restaurant right across the street. There was plenty of parking at the hotel. The included continental breakfast was decent and included boiled eggs, fruit, yoghurt, bagels, waffles, etc. Coffee, tea and lemon water was available 24 hours. I left the power adapter for my laptop in our room and only noticed the next day, back in Montreal. It took a few days, but they arranged to mail it back to me (I gave my cc info) and thank goodness I received it a couple of days before Canada Post went on strike again.   Comfortable, clean, and good breakfast. I did not use the pool. Convenient to park right outside the door on first floor.   THEY GAVE MY ROOM AWAY !!!

  BOOKED 2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE!!! for 4 nights.They gave away my room before I tried to check in, early afternoon.I had my confirmation with me and now I am fighting to get my deposit back.DO NO TRUST THEM- GO ELSEWHERE. Kimberly Clarke, General Manager at Coastal Inn Halifax, responded to this review Hi Shelly. Thank you for your feedback. We remember your reservation clearly and would like to clarify the situation.All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card. Unfortunately, when a reservation is made using a debit card or a pre-paid card such as a Joker gift card, we are unable to properly validate and guarantee the booking.That particular weekend was exceptionally busy due to a major event in the city, and most hotels were near capacity. As a result, we began validating all reservations the day prior to arrival. As part of our standard procedure, we made multiple attempts to contact you by phone and email to confirm your arrival, but we did not receive a response.By 4:00 PM on the day of arrival, we still had not received confirmation. In accordance with our cancellation policy, and because the reservation was not guaranteed, we were within our rights to cancel the room. When you arrived, our front desk team explained this and you mentioned you had been in PEI and unavailable by phone.Regarding your comment about "fighting to get your deposit back," this is the first we’ve heard of any such concern. As the reservation was never guaranteed and no charges were processed, there would have been no deposit to return.If you believe there is an unresolved issue or if a charge appeared elsewhere in error, we encourage you to contact the General Manager directly so we can look into it further.We appreciate your understanding and are happy to help clarify any other concerns you may have.
