  Beautiful, Enchanting and Relaxing Hotel

  With a perfect setting and surroundings, this hotel is the epitome of relaxation and calmness. The building itself was refurbished beautifully and every detail was carefully added in order to provide a beautiful stay. Guillermo was an absolute pleasure to meet and chat with, his dedication and eagerness to make you feel welcomed and comfortable is priceless. Two that were not accommodating, first is the fact that there is no restaurant on site or nearby (unless you go to Alcoy) and that makes it a bit uncomfortable when you don’t want to leave the premises to have lunch and dinner, and to bring your own food is not the ideal thing when all you want to do is relax, besides, the rooms do not have a fridge ir microwave (they are available in the premises), and the second , the rooms do not have AC, and now in August hotter and the room felt very humid, we had a floor fan and it didn’t help much. There are 2 lovely donkeys that love to be fed figs from the trees that are around the grounds. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and most definitely we will return. Oh! The pool was really nice (and cold!) and the toiletries are so nice, that I ended up purchasing them!

  Its a privilage to stay in a centuries old farm house which is converted into a charming butique hotel with a rustic touch in the rooms. The location is supurb with fantastic views and lots of oportunities for hikers. There is also an inviting pool. The owners are very friendly and attentive.They also produce quality virgin olive oil.

  Reconnecting with nature!

  From the moment we arrived, the calm air of nature surrounded us, inviting us to fully disconnect and appreciate the space and beauty of Alcoy. After a charmingly winding road to the hotel, we were met with the beautiful sights of the town with a refreshing mountain breeze, making it the perfect weather to almost not want to go out. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with a rustic yet elegant feel that combines the beauty of nature and the coziness of the country side.The hotel offers some of the most beautiful hiking trails that I've seen in Spain, perfect for a little getaway with your significant other or even just yourself. One of my favorite things from the whole experience was the delicious cold press olive oil tasting that we got to partaken thanks to our beautiful hostess Indira.I will be def coming back as soon as I can.

  Calm, peaceful refuge close to cycling heaven

  Second visit in two years to Masia la Mota, this time booking three nights. Idyllic with a fine attached restaurant making its location (a several mile drive into Alcoi) a non-issue if you don’t want to drive at night (but Alcoi is easy to drive into and visit if desired...parking lots are easy to find entering on the main streets).We chose this region for its incredible cycling opportunities. On our earlier visit we cycled right out of the hotel (after walking up the very short but steep access road!). This time we loaded our bikes and drove off to our starting points and parked our car for the day in the small villages we chose, checking with the locals before doing so (a friendly gas station attendant, and a friendly bar keeper were expansive in their generosity and assurance that our car was no nuisance when we parked for the day near their businesses). We chose Benimarfull and Beniloba on two different days. A map check can lead a cyclist to many possible loops and other starting points but these two were not too many miles away from the hotel.The hotel itself is like a very large and beautifully decorated private home, but with rooms. It is in fact the home of the owners but their quarters are private and their interaction with guests is designed solely to accommodate needs and comfort. Th staff were mostly fluent in English as many were students working while attending a business program university in Alcoi. Room choices range from standard to junior to suites. Very clean in every respect. We chose a junior suite for the longer stay in order to have a bit more space. The views both over the olive orchard and front patio, with Alcoi in the distance, were quiet and delightful. Very dark at night because there really are no neighbors near enough to shed light or make noise.Breakfast was simple but included all the necessities....bread (and toaster), pastry, juice, yoghurt, meats and cheese, plus the fresh orange juice so abundant in this region south of Valencia’s orange groves.Parking was free, easy, and safe. Make sure to double check that you locate the “Carretera Font Roja” and /or get the GPS coordinates because remember the hotel is on a long road outside of town! The sign on the right as you approach the steep access road for the hotel is very visible once there. (The “carretera”, itself goes farther along to a Natural Park, the Parc de la Font Roja, of course! So you can turn around and go back if needed.)

  Paradise in the Hills of Alcoy

  As a first time visitor to Spain from the United States I didn't know what to expect, but staying at Hotel Masia La Mota more than exceeded my expectations. The hotel is meticulously cared for by the owners with beautiful rooms warmly decorated to make you feel at home. The attached restaurant is run by an extremely talented chef, offering the most delicious local food prepared reminiscent of a Michelin star restaurant back home in NYC. The surrounding hills covered in olive groves and flowering almond trees overlooking the quaint town of Alcoy below offer miles of hiking and a paved trail perfect for a morning run or bike ride. The sunsets at night are spectacular. The hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway and I can't wait to go back!
