  Amazing stay

  We stayed here for a 4 night break and stayed on floor 5, part of the Level rooms. The room overlooked the harbour which was beautiful and quiet. Having travelled around the world, I can say that the bed and pillows are one of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in. The bathroom facilities were great particularly the jacquizzi bath. As part of the Level facilities there are beer, wine and fizz and soft drinks available all day till 10pm, this was a nice touch. Also included was some 'picky bits' tapas at lunch and supper time. At 6pm all other drinks were included such as a G&T, aperol etc which was great before heading out for dinner. The only negative is the pool area, it looses the sunshine by about 1pm and is in the shade, although the loungers are very comfortable and towels available. I have still given a 5 star review as the building has been here a long time and refurbished beautifully, its not easy to move a pool into the sun all day !! I have to disagree with a previous review regarding the staff, they are so helpful. The staff in the Level area work tirelessly, particular shout out to Susana and ManuelA. We will be definitely be back

  Masquerades as a ‘Club’ type area in a 4 star hotel

  The reviews said great, in reality very poor! The location excellent, but noisy at night on the marina view rooms. The Level is not intimate or 5 star, on offer in the lounge, crisps, stale cold tapas, never changed choice, biscuits and sweets. Red, white or Cava wine! All poor quality.The standout was freshly poached eggs at breakfast, 90 or more Level rooms, not enough sun loungers, the pool for the Level in the shade all day. The staff very abrupt bordering on rude!The planning of the hotel poor, Level rooms on floor 5, lounge on 2 only one of the 3 lifts for all the 500 room hotel was working! Expect to walk miles, and more!The room comfortable, some amenities but others like a shower cap missing!The worst is being treated as if in a holiday camp with the room key and key to toilets on a wrist band!Overall poor.

  Amazing hotel

  We have just had an amazing 4 days here to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary.The view from the balcony was fantastic looking over the marina and the streets of Alicante.Our room was lovely with a huge bed and a great bathroom also chocolates left on our pillows at turn down time.The hotel is in the best area in Alicante very close to everything the beach, marina and a short walk to the old town,I think what makes the Melia so special is the amazing staff every member went out of the way for us I wish I could remember all there names Suzana and Daniel were just 2 of the staff that were so helpful.I should also mention the lovely breakfast and the lounge area for our tapas and complementary Prosecco and wine.We will definitely be returning as soon as we can I loved everything the hotel had to offer and Alicante is a very special city .

  I booked this hotel about 5 months in advance of my stay at that time no mention was made of extensive rennovations taking place at the hotel. A week before I travelled I happened to read on TA about rennovations. I checked to see what they were and found the level pool was closed and the lounge had been moved from it's top floor location overlooking the sea to a function room downstairs. I have no problem with this happening but when it does you should inform your guests already booked and at least offer them a full refund or discount etc. I heard nothing. I contacted expedia who contacted the hotel who turned round and said there was nothing they would do as the rate I had booked was non-refunable.As far as I could tell there was nothing to seperate our room from the main hotel. I'm not convinced it wasn't just in the normal part of the hotel otherwise it was a long walk to the level area if it was open. Only two elevators were working for normal hotel and level guests leading to long queues. The check in although pleasent took and age at the temporary reception. The room was nice. The lounge staff were really good but the lounge terrace itself was only seperated from the main hotel by a tempoary barrier and some pot plants. When I arrived my room was very warm 24.5c couldn't get the air conditioning to work to be told we don't switch it on in winter ! The cocktails in the bar were excellent and the hotel is in a great location.I definately wouldn't stay here during the rennovations. Because of the lack of any customer service I won't be returning. You take things away from what was originally advertised you tell your customer and give them some options e.g. discount, free breakfast the option to cancel for the inconvience not just turn round and say you booked a non-refunable rate.

  Me and cousin fancied a few days away between a hectic few months at work, ben has been to Alicante before I have not.We saw the level melia Alicante on a few review and booking sites we booked a twin level room on the 5th floor with level access. Check in Prompt separate level check in area with drinks and snacks room was ready when we landed at property at 1230. Room spacious Twin beds and separate sofa, complementary water in room and a turn down service each night and second clean to replace any towels if you wished. On the first day the hotel also gave us a fridge magnet and cup to take home nice little touch. The level lounge could be described as a Hilton executive lounge however it’s far better than there’s. Each day there are a selection of branded alcoholic drinks coffee soft drink and throughout day canapés, light snacks and sweets (check photos) all in very good offering!! Pool and sun bed area was good floor just slippy so be careful The hotel is undergoing renovations and certain sections / lifts / communal areas are out of action this did not impact our stay. Hotel restaurant for evening meal was nice ate there one night. Don’t have breakfast went out. Overall. Very good hotel, clean, good offering in level lounge, there are parts that are adult only so I wouldn’t come with children. But they can access main hotel but not level lounge
