  No Window but air-con, parking available at a price but not on hotel property.

  When I booked with Booking.com I also wanted ' parking ' with this hotel, when I got there , there was NO parking facilities at all, she pointed out on a map of the area where there might be pay parking available!.Not all reception staff speak English. My room had no window but thank god had air-con. Maybe I shouldn't have expected a proper window for the price of the room, maybe Booking should mention that in the future, ' no window available for single room ' . Breakfast buffet available - Spanish style - plenty of choice except for anything cooked - no boiled or scrambled eggs etc.

  The title sums it up. This is probably the closest hotel to the Almeria internodal train and bus station.Rooms were dark and bathroom a bit smelly due to small window and no extractor. Bed old and worn. The room telephone did not work despite informing the reception on the first night. Was not resolved the whole week I was there.WiFi non existent in the room. Sporadic signal in reception/dining area. I think the hotel probably rely on the fact that everyone has tons of mobile data these days, hence no I urgency for them to sort the WiFi out.Continental breakfast was cold ok for me as I don't eat much first thing.There is a large supermarket about 5-6 minutes walk towards the station. If you exit the hotel and turn right there are lots of shops and eateries along the street. But most are shut after dark probably due to corona. Hence for dinner, you have to walk about 15 minutes for anything decent. You'll find a few kebab shops nearby though. Apart from the proximity to the station, I can't think of any other reason to stay there. Not particularly cheap either.

  Booked just a couple days in advance at high season our choice of high value hotels in Almeria was quite limited for our one-night stay where we needed little more than beds to sleep in.Our standard twin room was of adequate size with a large bath. Furnishings are minimal with only a night stand a desk. There is a fair sized closet but it offers little storage beyond a good amount of hanging space. Electrical outlets are conveniently placed. The public spaces, our room and bath are nicely clean but those who freak over a SMALL amount of mildew in/near the corners of the tub/shower will take issue.Check-in was quick and our very limited interaction with staff was fine.Plenty of restaurants and shops in the immediate area and the coast is about 1/2 km away.

  As for cleanliness and hygiene it was a disaster: there is mold between the tiles of the bathroom and all along the bath, really disgusting when taking a shower ... And the worst: no toilet brush in the bathroom, we asked a cleaning lady to bring us one and we were shocked when we realized that she walks from room to room with a single brush! In addition, she uses only one and the same cloth to clean the toilet and the bathtub, long live the bacteria .... We had to buy our own antibacterial wipes ...Oh yes, another point: the cleaning ladies never changed the sheets, they simply put them back in place each morning. When staying more than a week it is unacceptable! We had to ask twice to change them ... In short, there is a cruel lack of means (and / or will)Also be careful in the rooms: no mini-fridge, no phone to call the front desk, and wi-fi constantly failing.Good points were: the rather friendly staff and hotel location near the bus station, 15 minutes from the beach, 15 minutes from downtown.

  The perfect staff and service.

  As soon as I arrived for a stay of eight nights for a conference, the English speaking staff could not have been more helpful, storing my luggage, securing valuables in the hotel safe, offering coffee, a map of the city and directions to the beach. After checking in the staff immediately offered me a room upgrade. The room was a twin,large and with a large window view. The air conditioning was very good, as was the Wi-Fi, the television was perfect for the room, the beds were very comfortable, firm but giving. The room was very clean as was the bathroom, that had a shower that had a water pressure of a therapeutic level of water massage. The breakfast was fresh, varied and plentiful; fruit, breads, ham and cheese, sweet cakes, pastries, muesli with optional seeds, nuts and fruit, coffee, teas, juices. As I spent part of the day in the room working, the housekeeping staff could not have been more accommodating, kind, considerate and professional in working around this. I think the staff make this hotel a success, they could not have been more helpful, friendly and considerate no matter the time of day I left and entered the hotel. The hotel is a beautiful 10 minute walk from the beach and in the other direction 10 minutes from the city. There is a supermarket 5 minutes away for food and any essentials, the train station is again 5 minutes walk away. There are many art galleries again 5-10 minutes walk away. I always felt safe walking around the city and back to the hotel alone, no matter what time of the night. The hotel was in the perfect position and I could not have had a better experience staying at the Hotel Embajador. Many thanks to the staff.
