    Good Meliá but not great.

    rating26 Apr 2026

A good Meliá but not the best. As a Gold member there was no special welcome, the Level is in a dark room with no windows and limited food offering, technical issues in the room took a time to sort out. Breakfast is good as is the location by the M1 subway into central Paris. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Paris La Defense, responded to this review Dear Sir,Thank you for staying with us at Meliá Paris La Défense and for taking the time to review your experience. We are delighted that you appreciated our breakfast offerings and the convenience of our location near the M1 subway, which provides easy access to central Paris. As a Gold member, we regret that your arrival experience did not reflect the special recognition we aim to provide. The Level lounge's current design prioritizes an intimate atmosphere, though we acknowledge the natural light and food variety may not have met your expectations. Our team is committed to resolving technical room issues promptly, and we appreciate your patience while we addressed them.We look forward to welcoming you back on a future trip.Kind regards,Emilia M., Meliá Paris La Défense Team

    Horrible experience and people

    rating15 Jan 2026

Had reserved accidentally the day before arrival. After calling the hotel, emails etc. they were not at all willing to move the reservation. So I made a reservation for the following day too (e.g. paid for 2 nights) and then emailed the hotel to lets us in early on our actual arrival date (since they had charged me for the previous night and refused to move the date). On arrival, they refused to give us a room before the check in hour for the second reservation claiming they had already given away the room they had charged us for the first night. Even after months of back and forth, still didn't refund us for the night. Just generally horrible people all around (everyone we interacted with with customer service, mangers, etc.). No one was helpful. Am a frequent traveler and had stayed at other Melia properties before around the world but will avoid the chain in the future. Avoid: Breakdown in Housekeeping, Lounge, and Hygien

    rating12 Jan 2026

I came back to Meliá Paris La Défense because last year’s stay was genuinely good. This time it has been the opposite: a steady breakdown in basic service, and it’s particularly glaring if you’ve booked The Level and are paying extra for “premium” access. The issues (repeated, not one-offs)Room housekeeping is consistently late. Our room still hadn’t been refreshed by 3:24 pm one day, and on another day it wasn’t serviced until after 2 pm. Once is annoying. Twice is a pattern.Breakfast is chaotic and under-supplied.At around 10:00 am there was no seating available in either The Level lounge or the main restaurant. When we returned to The Level shortly after, basics like croissants and fruit hadn’t been replenished, and there were no cups for coffee. That’s not “busy,” that’s poor planning. The Level lounge is often unusable because it’s full.We repeatedly had to use the main restaurant because The Level lounge had no space. If you’re selling a premium experience, “try your luck” is not the deal.Food is not labelled, which is unacceptable for dietary needs. The complimentary snacks and canapés in The Level lounge had no ingredient labels. I’m vegan, and I ended up needing my husband to taste items to figure out what they were. One canapé that looked vegetarian turned out to be fish. This is not a fussy preference issue. It’s a basic duty-of-care issue for anyone with dietary restrictions or allergies.Requests via the app are handled slowly.I ordered an amenity via the app in the morning and only got a response the next day. Again, not catastrophic, but it adds to the “nothing works smoothly” feeling. What pushed it into “never again”Staff handover is basically non-existent.A Level reception staff member on our first evening made a real effort with my vegan requirements and said he’d noted it. The next staff members knew nothing about it. No notes. No handover. I had to restart the conversation each time, and there was no sense anyone owned the issue. The lounge was being vacuumed while guests were still using it.At 9:10 pm, with at least a dozen guests present and the lounge open until 10 pm, staff began vacuuming. I had to complain twice before it stopped. Meanwhile, food and drinks weren’t being replenished, and drinks were actually being removed from the bar while guests were still there. That tells you exactly how guests are being prioritised.Hygiene in the Level lounge restroom was poor. The toilet adjacent to the lounge was visibly soiled, the bin was overflowing, and there was paper and grime on the floor. In a premium-access area, that’s not “a slip.” That’s basic standards not being met.General upkeep is tired and neglected.Uncleared tables, stained upholstery, and a general sense that no one is managing the space.Bottom lineIf you’re booking standard and only need a bed, you might tolerate this. If you’re booking The Level, don’t. The whole point is smoother service, consistency, and a lounge that feels calm and well-run. What we got was overcrowding, poor replenishment, poor communication, and hygiene lapses.Avoid. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Paris La Defense, responded to this review Dear guest, Thank you for this review about your stay with us at Meliá Paris La Défense. We regret The Level didn’t meet your expectations, especially with housekeeping delays, lounge overcrowding, and breakfast replenishment issues. We’re addressing food labeling and staff communication gaps regarding dietary needs, plus hygiene and maintenance disruptions in the lounge. Your feedback helps us improve every aspect of The Level experience. We hope to be able to welcome you back on a return visit for an improved experience.Best regards,Emilia M., Voice of Customer Coordinator

    Amazing

    rating23 Dec 2025

Amazing hotel. Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish. When we arrived Gabriel checked us in, our room wasn’t quite ready as we had arrived before check in time, but he allowed us to use The Level facilities while we waited. Which was amazing, good selection of food and drink throughout the day. When we got to our room we were amazed! It was spectacular! Large, spacious, clean with everything you’d need during your stay AND with the most spectacular view! We could see the Eiffel Tower from our room!! This was just amazing to watch at night. When it became time to checkout, again the process was smooth and easy. The hotel were happy to store our luggage for the day and also allowed us to continue to use the facilities.Overall an amazing stay, would highly recommend!A special thank you to Gabriel for the boys small gift at the end of our stay, and a big thank you for our gift in the room. We will definitely be back. Thank you. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Paris La Defense, responded to this review Dear Guest,We appreciate your kind words about your stay at Meliá Paris La Défense and are happy you returned home with great memories of your holiday. We're delighted to know you appreciated our service culture, starting with The Level lounge access that enhanced your arrival experience.Your kind words about the room experience, including the Eiffel Tower views and thoughtful amenities, reflect our dedication to memorable stays. It was our pleasure to facilitate seamless check-in/out processes and luggage storage, allowing you to enjoy Parisian elegance until departure. We're touched you noticed our special gestures, as creating heartfelt moments is central to warm Spanish hospitality. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back. Beware with fake Meliá

    rating18 Dec 2025

I needed a few days to be able to digest this (terrible) experience in Paris. Let’s start with the check-in. I am a Meliá Silver member, and since it was my wife’s birthday, we chose The Level experience. We have previously stayed at hotels in the same category, and all of those experiences were amazing. We were extremely disappointed with the service offered at the Meliá Paris La Défense.Upon arrival, we were asked to pay a €200 security deposit, which would be refunded after check-out. We were also charged the city tax twice, and I had to request a refund. This type of information should be clearly communicated at the time of booking. We were caught off guard, which negatively affected our finances.A 4-star hotel in Paris should offer airport transfer options for Level VIP guests, and we were very dissatisfied that this service was not available. It was another unpleasant surprise to find out that the hotel does not have a spa or a swimming pool, especially considering it is a hotel in Paris with a great location. The Level Lounge service is very weak, with no proper replenishment of snacks and tapas. If it is a busy day and you do not arrive early, there will be nothing left to enjoy. The quality of the beverages is extremely poor — only the cheapest options are available. If you expect champagne or macarons, forget it.The breakfast is very poorly served, with very limited options and variety. For example, the fruit salad consisted only of pineapple and melon. There wasn’t even orange included. Hot dishes were served directly from the stove, which gives the impression of a lack of organization and investment.Regarding the room, the view was incredible, however, it was poorly cleaned. There were remnants from the previous guest, such as a pink party balloon behind the curtain. The bed was comfortable. We also did not receive any VIP welcome amenity, nor the birthday amenity for my wife. Even after informing the hotel on the day of her birthday that we were entitled to a birthday surprise, not even a macaron was delivered to the room.On that same day, housekeeping did not replace the toilet paper, and I had to request it. The minibar contained only two cans of water, and there should be no expectation of replenishment. In summary, it is a hotel with a good location and a great view — and nothing more. We will not return and do not recommend it.For smokers, be cautious when going outside the hotel to smoke; pickpockets are frequent, and I was almost robbed.I cannot blame the staff, as it is clear that the poor service results from a lack of investment and customer care. I understand that this is a business hotel, but if it welcomes all types of guests, it should be rated as a 2-star hotel and remove the Meliá brand label. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Paris La Defense, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us at Meliá Paris La Défense. We are delighted to hear that you appreciated our hotel's prime location and the breathtaking views from your room, which we take pride in offering to all our guests.Regarding your concerns about The Level Lounge, we acknowledge that the replenishment of snacks and tapas during peak times fell short of expectations, and we are reviewing our service protocols to enhance consistency. We deeply regret the housekeeping oversights you encountered, particularly the cleaning lapses and amenities not being delivered as expected; this does not reflect our usual standards, and we are reinforcing training to prevent recurrence. With reference to your comments at check in, please allow us to clarify that the security deposit is a standard procedure applied to all guests and is fully refundable after check out. We have also verified your billing details and can confirm that there was no double charge of the city tax. Both the deposit and the city tax are clearly communicated on our official website at the time of booking. We hope that you will allow us the opportunity of providing you with an improved stay in future. Best regards,Caroline P., Voice of Customer Coordinator
