    I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!

    rating25 May 2026

The package that is being sold as all inclusive it is not. If you want to have all inclusive you need to purchase the all inclusive imperial when you arrive at the hotel. The food selection it is very poor. If you want an ice cream for the kids you need to pay separately. The rooms can keys never work, you need to go to reception 6-7 times a day to tell them it's not working and recharge it. The staff barely speaks any English (you can barely order a coffee). If you want to change the pool towels you need to pay 1 euro per towel every time you change it. That also tell you about some costs that we didn't know when we made the booking, like they have to upgrade the room and you have to pay otherwise our room will be God knows where. For parking, if you rwnt a car, it is 18 euros per day in the hotel parking otherwise you have to leave it on the street. I do not recommend this resort at all!!! I can say that this resort doesn't deserve the rating that it has. If you don't havr the room card with you, you can't get food, drinks, nothing. I definitely do not recommend this resort! Not a 4-star hotel !!!

    rating29 Jan 2026

My family and I landed in Spain around 8:00 PM, and the drive to the hotel in our rental car took over an hour. When we arrived, we tried to check in, but it turned out the hotel had no record of our reservation. After several failed attempts to communicate with the receptionist (who, like 99% of the staff, spoke very little English) and a phone call to Love holidays, I was forced to pay for the first night out of my own pocket. For three adults and a child, I had to pay £279 just so the hotel could "resolve" the issue the next day. To make matters worse, we stood at reception for about two hours, and not a single staff member even offered us a bottle of water! The next morning, I received a message saying I had to contact reception for a refund because the hotel had "finally" found our booking. We had booked an "All-Inclusive" package for the whole family, but we soon discovered the reality was far from it. For instance, when I tried to get an ice cream for my son, I was told I had to pay because it was only included in the "All-Inclusive Premium" option—something we were never informed of during booking. Furthermore, the standard "All-Inclusive" did not include basic items like crisps, ice cream, or certain drinks. I ended up paying an extra £150 for the "Premium" upgrade just so my child could have an ice cream and a bag of snacks. We arrived in a rental car and parked on the street next to the hotel where many other cars were parked, as the hotel parking was full. The car stayed there all week without any issues, but on Thursday morning, it was towed because a market was being held in that spot. When I asked the reception why no one contacted us—despite having a hotel phone in our room and my mobile number on file—the receptionist claimed in broken English that they "cannot call non-Spanish phone numbers." Absolute nonsense. As a result, I had to pay €60 for the towing and a €100 fine for parking in a prohibited area. Impressive, right? As for the food, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in regarding meal quality. It was very poor and not child-friendly at all. They served chicken nuggets once a week; otherwise, my son ate nothing but chips for seven days. The biggest "surprise" was seeing dumplings at dinner that turned out to be made using the leftover tomato soup from lunch. A total scandal. The magnetic key cards, used for rooms and ordering snacks, were a disaster. The system is tragic—I found myself having to replace my card at reception 4–5 times a day because they kept failing. On our penultimate evening, we returned to our room to find an ant infestation in the hallway. After reporting it, the area was cleaned, but the problem returned the very next day.The only positive thing I can say is that the pool and the children’s slides were great. Everything else was a massive negative. The biggest issue is the total lack of communication; as mentioned, 99% of the staff do not speak English, which is a huge problem for English-speaking families, like us coming from the UK.After returning home, I contacted Love holidays to report these grievances. Despite the hotel failing to find our booking on day one and offering zero compensation (no room upgrade, no complimentary premium service, nothing), they just left us stranded. Only after Love holidays intervened did I receive a £50 refund... what a joke.In summary: I absolutely do not recommend this hotel if you are flying from the UK. You will spend more time stressed than relaxing. This hotel deserves 3 stars at most; it is nowhere near a 4-star standard! Disappointing Stay – Not What We Hoped For!

    rating22 Sept 2025

We recently stayed at the Playzimbali Hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, with spacious grounds that are very well maintained. Our room was large, clean and comfortable, although located at the very far end of the complex, which was a real struggle for myself and my elderly father (88, blind, with severe back issues).Unfortunately, despite the lovely setting, the holiday was let down by several serious issues:Facilities: The pool was extremely cold, and the standard sunbeds were both uncomfortable and rather grubby. We discovered too late that there was a “premium” all-inclusive option with better sunbeds and snacks – but we were not informed of this when booking. We even offered to pay to upgrade, but were told this wasn’t possible unless we changed rooms, which were not available. This left us with no choice but to use the poor sunbeds, or in the end, sit on plastic chairs we found.Food & Drink: The all-inclusive food was by far the worst we’ve experienced in many years of travel. Most dishes tasted strongly of rancid oil, making even simple vegetables, meat and fish unpleasant. I ended up surviving on bread and cheese most evenings. Around the pool the drinks were limited and all contained aspartame; alternative options were only available at the inside bar. Snacks such as crisps were also restricted to “premium” guests. Food often ran out and was not replenished.Accessibility: As two disabled travellers, we faced unexpected difficulties. One evening we sat at the designated disabled table in the restaurant (the only one near the entrance, which we relied on due to mobility issues). A waitress named Anita abruptly told us we could not sit there because we didn’t have a wheelchair with us. Disabilities are not always visible, but she was extremely rude, even snatching my husband’s plate away mid-meal. I told her I would be putting her on Trip Advisor at which point she brought the manager over, then got very heated in discussion and actually elbowed the manager (who was very conciliatory) out of the way. The manager later apologised and confirmed she was wrong, but the incident left us upset and spoiled our holiday.Atmosphere: For the first few days the hotel was peaceful, but from Friday onwards large groups of Spanish families arrived and the atmosphere completely changed. Children ran wild, damaging hotel property, throwing drinks into the fountain and attempting to break the revolving door, with little or no parental supervision. It felt chaotic, and we avoided the hotel by going out each day and evening. On the positive side, most staff (reception, cleaners, and many of the waiting team) were pleasant, helpful and friendly, and the hotel grounds are undeniably attractive. However, the combination of poor food, inaccessible facilities, rude treatment by one staff member, and a lack of information about “premium” versus standard all-inclusive left us very disappointed.Sadly, this was not the relaxing holiday we had hoped for, and I cannot recommend the Playzimbali Hotel to English visitors – especially those with accessibility needs. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Playazimbali Hotel, responded to this review Dear Karin,We appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us.We're delighted you appreciated our spacious grounds and well-maintained gardens, which we take pride in offering all guests. Our team works diligently to ensure rooms provide comfort through their generous sizing and cleanliness standards. We’re sorry about the information never gaves you your travel agency, that’s why our reception team explains all the facilities at the check in. There are no premium all inclusive sunbeds, the Royal área is for suite guests and is for that the reception told you you need to change the room to upgrade and use those facilities. Sit on platic chairs you found? You surely can find plastic chairs in the swiming pool where the tables are.As a spanish cuisine we offer, food is cooked in olive oil not other vegetal oils or butter. We can understand taste is different is other countries. Daily we serve salads, show cooking meat and fish, paella, vegetables, pasta, soup and other recipies. Good enough than cheese and bread, but also included in the menú.Drinks at the pool bar like sodas, water, juice or hard drinks as whiskey, rum, gin, vodka are not limited in the all inclusive option, are a payment requirement for half board. We’re sorry about you feel the atmosphere at the weekend. At this time of the year kids are back at the school, so families travel on weekendsYour kind remarks about our helpful team members are particularly valued. We've shared your compliments with the housekeeping and reception teams who strive to maintain our high standards daily.Luisa PiñeroPlayazimbali Hotel, Manager

Never again but very friendly staff

    rating06 Sept 2025

I dont unterstand the positiv reviews. The only positive thing i can say is the friendly staff - thats it. The rooms are very old and a lot of things are broken. The sunbeds are very dirty from drinks and food. The food in the Restaurant is without taste and poor quality. The breakfast is the only thing what was ok but eggs and bread you can not do a lot of things wrong. Kids disco is only 5 dancing songs thats it. A lot of tables outside from the bars are dirty. The pool area is nice - the pool water ice cold and the pool inside closed! When you check the prices from this hotel is not worth it at all!! Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Playazimbali Hotel, responded to this review Dear Doris,We sincerely apologize that your experience fell short in several areas. Our culinary team takes great care in crafting diverse menus at Mbali restaurant, including live cooking stations and seasonal à la carte options. Regarding pool facilities, our indoor pool operates seasonally to align with guest preferences during warmer months. It's heartening to know you enjoyed our expansive pool complex with its African-themed design and water features. We continuously maintain these areas to preserve their welcoming atmosphere. We hope that we are able to offer you an improved experience in the future.Kind regards,Luisa PiñeroPlayazimbali Hotel, Manager

Good for families and pet lovers

    rating14 Aug 2025

We’ve just come back from a 1 week all inclusive stay and we really enjoyed our time. There are a few things you need to be aware of before staying here though. It’s very much a Spanish resort. This isn’t a negative for us but some people may want to take kids to get involved with the kids club etc but we were told from the outset that it’s all Spanish so our son might struggle. The staffs English is far better than my very basic Spanish but every now and then we struggled to communicate. It’s also a pet friendly hotel, so if you done like dogs, I’d avoid but for the most part it wasn’t a negative for us, apart from the occasional bark from a dog in the next room. The hotel itself is a little dated, but it ads character and it’s kept very clean, with the rooms cleaned every day. One tip for the hotel might would be to put a few class drop points around the pool and bar areas. A lot of guests just randomly left glasses lying around and this might encourage them to clean up after themselves. The pool area was great, large pool, separate pool for 3 slides and a jacuzzi. All fresh water for those who don’t like salt water pools (like us). They also have a swim up bar, which is a nice bonus. There’s plenty of sun beds but you need to get out early to get a good spot as they go quickly. The food isn’t too bad, they have some regular things on the menu and rotate others. Some of the deserts were great and they have a crepe station which is always a winner with kids. The all inclusive package could have been better when it came to drinks. The beer was great and the sangria, however, you had to pay extra for cocktails (which weren’t great) and it would have been good to have a selection that were included with the all inclusive package. The staff were always friendly, great on arrival as we got there around 10pm where they invited us to go and eat whilst there was still time. They also provide rooms to showers and change in if you have a late pick up on leaving as you have to check out at 12.Overall we really enjoyed our stay but the odd thing mentioned above would have made it even better. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Playazimbali Hotel, responded to this review Dear Edward,Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We're delighted you appreciated our family-friendly amenities and pet-friendly approach that makes us unique. Our team takes pride in maintaining the pool complex with its freshwater slides and jacuzzi, knowing these features create memorable moments for families like yours. We sincerely regret some aspects fell short of expectations. Our multilingual staff continuously trains to improve guest interactions, and we've noted your observations about beverage options while appreciating your balanced perspective. Finally, we're particularly pleased you enjoyed the culinary variety at Mbali restaurant and our team's efforts to accommodate late arrivals. Your recognition of these details motivates us to keep delivering authentic experiences. We look forward to welcoming you back on a future occasion.
