Unauthorised card use after stay – disappointing lack of response

    rating19 Apr 2026

I recently stayed at this hotel and experienced a serious issue after my stay involving unauthorised use of my bank cards.I raised this with Meliá’s corporate customer service team and followed up several times over the past week. Although I received a formal response, there has been no further communication or attempt to address the situation. As I have another stay booked this week, it’s disappointing that this hasn’t been handled more proactively.I would have expected better communication, particularly given the circumstances.

    4 day stay in Barcelona

    rating24 Mar 2026

Was a great experience! Antonnino Helped with early check in and room upgrades. He was great helping book last minute tours. Definitely upgrade to the level. The lounge alone makes it worth it. You relax with complimentary drinks and snacks without feeling stuck in your hotel room. All of the staff were excellent. Only minor complaint are the light switches were believe or not very confusing and you had to figure out how they worked. It was like a secret code lol. Hotel Manager, Owner at The Level at Melia Barcelona Sky, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your recent stay with us at The Level at Meliá Barcelona Sky.We're delighted your early check-in and room upgrade contributed to a smooth start.Your kind words about our team's assistance with tour bookings are much appreciated. It's wonderful to hear The Level Lounge provided a relaxing space with thoughtful refreshments during your stay.We note your feedback about the light controls and will review their design for improved intuitiveness. It was our pleasure to deliver excellent service throughout your Barcelona experience. We hope to welcome you back. Most positive experience, book at the Level!

    rating19 Oct 2025

My wife and I came to Barcelona for three nights for a wedding, which was held in Alella, at a venue named Masia Mas Coll, a bit North from Barcelona, highly recommended. This was our first stay at the Level Sky hotel. Our stay was very pleasant due to first class service. We want to thank Larissa at the Level Lounge for the most positive check-in we ever had at a Melia hotel. Being a gold member, we have experience of several check-ins. We got upgraded to a Premium Sea View room (had reserved a city view) at 22nd floor. Thank you for that! The 30m2 room was nice and spacious, the storage space for clothes was though very limited. I few hooks would be welcome. The same in the bathroom, no knob/hook for the large towels and bathrobes. When you have been out jogging there is no place to hang your jogging outfit when you have washed them. This problem goes for most hotels I have visited! There is one issue I want to point out concerning the room. The Nespresso coffee machines are not properly cleaned. I always take a cup of plain hot water from the machine to see if I get clean water, or water with dirt left in the tubes after coffee brewing. And I usually get light brown water with some coffee leftovers. Clean them properly, thank you.The breakfast is served with a satisfying selection to choose from, of high quality. I got my omelet cooked to order each morning. We also liked the breakfast terrasse with a lovely view. The level lounge was also a nice experience. We thank Larissa for helping us with an issue we had with a parking garage (not the one in conjunction with the hotel). We want also to thank Antonio for being most helpful both with the parking issue and making our stay most comfortable, and for a smooth check-out. We are looking forward to our next visit with you. Hotel Manager, Owner at The Level at Melia Barcelona Sky, responded to this review Dear Ombudsmannen, Thank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful review. We’re delighted to hear that you and your wife had a pleasant stay with us during your visit to Barcelona! It’s wonderful to know that our team, especially Larissa and Antonio, made a positive impression and contributed to a smooth and welcoming experience. We're also glad you enjoyed the Premium Sea View room upgrade, the breakfast terrace, and the personalized service at The Level Lounge.Your insights help us improve, and we’re grateful for your loyalty as a Melia Gold member. We look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable stay.Warm regards,Sara Domingo, Guest Service Manager

    Expecting 5 star? Book elsewhere!

    rating17 Sept 2025

Where do I begin? Well firstly, definitely not 5 star, by any stretch of the imagination! ROOM: From the inappropriate nature of the conversation at check-in, (long conversations about ‘fitting in’ to guests having flown in from abroad was truly odd) to opening the room door directly onto the bathroom (there is literally no door to the bathroom, or on the wardrobe right next to it!) The toilet at the end of the shower had a see through glass door, with a less than a third of the single pane of sliding glass being etched, so absolutely no privacy - sound or otherwise. Which makes for an interesting interaction for any room service, or any maintenance men visiting (which we needed as the shower didn’t work). FOOD: not a place to eat in the evening! First night at the empty ground floor restaurant - was a surly waiter why so surly when he was far from busy was a mystery. The 24th floor restaurant provides a good selection at breakfast, but that’s as far as it goes. We booked for our final evening to catch the sunset and were the only ones there, again! Nevermind, we thought, at least we will be served in a timely manner! Err wrong. The cocktails selected from their menu were wrong (for future reference there is no Campari or orange in a white negroni - which becomes, well, pink). We each ordered a main meal with a gap of nearly half an hour between the first and second plate being delivered. They clearly realised the experience was sub-optimal, and agreed to comp the meal. We headed out by taxi and had a lovely meal at El Salon. The cherry on the cake was that the promise of the comped meal was reneged upon at check out by the less than delightful Abdul, who claimed he was the duty manager, but without either the demeanour or commitment to customer service one would expect from a 3 star hotel let alone 5! We had intended to leave our luggage there as we took a last look at the city centre, but as our trust had been broken, did not feel safe to entrust them with our belonging. So yes, we will remember Barcelona for many reasons, the art (the Mirò Foundation well worth the detour) the architecture (Park Güell was a last minute but worthwhile addition to our itinerary), the amazing food and welcoming service at Bestia and El Salon, however this hotel, well that’s another story! Hotel Manager, Owner at The Level at Melia Barcelona Sky, responded to this review Dear Sir/Madam,Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay. It was a pleasure to have you at Meliá Barcelona Sky, and we sincerely regret that your experience fell far short of the standards we aim to provide. We are very sorry to hear about the multiple issues you encountered, from the room layout and lack of privacy, to the problems with the shower, as well as the service challenges you faced in our restaurants. Your observations regarding staff interactions, timing, and follow-through are especially concerning, and we will address them thoroughly with our teams to prevent similar experiences in the future. Please know that your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve all aspects of our service. We deeply regret that we did not meet your expectations, and we sincerely hope that despite this, you were able to enjoy the beauty and culture of Barcelona.Thank you again for your comments. Should you consider returning to our city, we would welcome the opportunity to provide a much more seamless and enjoyable stay.Warm regards,Sara Domingo, Guest Service Manager

    The Level is brilliant!

    rating11 Sept 2025

I spent absolutely ages trying to decide where to stay in Barcelona and am so pleased I picked The Level! We were travelling as a family of 6 with grandparents, parents and 2 young children and there were not many hotel options with family rooms, so we chose here as we could have a suite and a double room.We were driving and booked the car park as an extra which was very conveniently located right under the hotel, with lift access to the main reception. The suite on floor 28 was great - lots of space and amazing views. We could just see the spires of La Sagrada Familia and saw some beautiful sunsets. The bathroom in the suite was significantly larger than the double room with a bath and a double shower, but the double room was also a decent size. In the suite there were doors so you could close the bedroom off from the living area with the sofa bed, but they didn’t fully close. I found the bed a little soft for my liking, but otherwise have no complaints at all about the room. We slept well! There were even some small gifts left for the kids which was a lovely touch.Lifts were quick and we never waited long. We used the pool briefly a few evenings - it was in the shade by 6pm so a little chilly, but very quiet! Area wise it was perfect for us. It was nice being able to walk to the beach, and the Poblenou Rambla was a fantastic street with loads of restaurants and shops. I definitely preferred the vibe here to the centre of the city. Transport in to the centre was good - we used the metro to get to Passeig de Gracia for the Gaudi houses and other central sights, and the tram to go to Sagrada Familia.I definitely feel it was worth the extra to upgrade to The Level. As a guest in The Level there is an exclusive reception on floor 25 - here there is also a lounge with drinks and snacks available from 9am-10pm. We ended up using this area for breakfast every day as we were quite happy with a pastry, fruit and drinks at 9am. If you want a full buffet or an earlier breakfast that is available at an extra charge, but we didn’t feel the need. We also ended up using the lounge area a few days for lunch - this was really good with small salads available and a gorgeous gazpacho amongst other things. The food is constantly topped up, and there’s wine and beer available here. What was really amazing was the “appetiser time” on floor 24 from 5.30-7pm. Lots of tasty nibbles and all sorts available to drink. The views from here were amazing - all the way up and down the coast.I’d definitely recommend here and would stay again. The experience would also make me look at Melia hotels in other locations in the future. Thanks! Hotel Manager, Owner at The Level at Melia Barcelona Sky, responded to this review Dear HelenSew, Thank you so much for your lovely review — we’re thrilled to hear that The Level was the right choice for your family and that you enjoyed the suite, the views, and the special touches throughout your stay. It’s wonderful to know that the location, the lounge experience, and our team’s service made your visit even more enjoyable. Your kind words truly mean a lot to us.We’d love to welcome you back anytime — and we’re so happy to know you’d consider Meliá for future stays! All the best.Sara Domingo, Guest Service Manager
