Extraordinary Experience in Historic Hotel with Unsurpassed Countryside Views!

    rating03 Apr 2025

Our stay at Hotel El Convento was absolutely delightful! We are two couples who stayed for two nights, and we wish we could have stayed longer. First of all, Sofia Roldan, provided excellent advance information via email and text (parking instructions; arrival time; etc.). She was a wonderful hostess during our stay, providing a delicious prepared hot and cold breakfast both mornings (small surcharge for eggs and bacon, made to order). The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and quite large by European standards. Our bathrooms had both toilets and bidets along with full size tubs/showers. Beds were extremely comfortable, and the entire hotel is quiet. The best part about El Convento is its amazing location at the top of the historic old town just steps from the City Hall. The views from the hotel out over the surrounding countryside are absolutely extraordinary. We loved every minute of our stay in Arcos de la Frontera, and El Convento will be our choice for the next time we visit. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful and memorable!

    Fantastic place to stay

    rating17 Sept 2024

This was a fantastic place to stay. Spotlessly clean, such friendly staff and a great location to explore Arcos. We had room with a terrace which was lovely - stunning views and very light and bright. Breakfast on the terrace was perfect. Would really recommend staying here Raquel Roldán, Director General at Hotel El Convento, responded to this review Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and will pass on your compliments to our staff regarding the treatment and cleanliness. Best regards!

A really special place with stunning views and warm hospitaliy, highly recommend.

OMG this place was just amazing and such fun to stay at. One of the best in our five week travels. It was recommended by RIck Steves in his travel book on Spain and they have a room named after him in honor of his "Travel journalism". Turns out we were given that room! The rooms have a stunning sweeping view of the valley below from balconies and a peek of the ruins to the left. The outdoor dining room upstairs has an equally impressive 180' view of the valley. Check in was easy and welcoming, the owner? could not speak much English but bent over backwards to accommodate us and offered breakfast just as the closing time for this meal was approaching. The room itself was lovely, clean, modern and large and mostly quiet, a great nights sleep. It is located within easy walking distance of all the neat places to see and do in Arcos and great food nearby. Now you must know this, Arcos in the old town has very narrow streets, harrowing to drive and navigate if you are not used to it. If you have a rental car be forewarned this will be a real challenge and I don't know where you would park. We used DayTrip.com private car to get to El Convento and our driver was really nervous and he lives in Spain! Locals and small busses zip around like its a freeway however. Again this place was really special and I can easily recommend it. Raquel Roldán, Director General at Hotel El Convento, responded to this review We are very thankful for your review, from your words we can tell you enjoyed your stay, the views and the services you were offered, It is always our pleasure to help and these reeviews are reassuring that our hard work is paying off. Thanks again and best regards.

Perfect lodgings in a fairytale Andalusian Village

    rating13 Apr 2024

We stopped overnight in Arcos on a short trip to Cadiz. We were thrilled that we did. We spent the night at El Convento which surpassed our expectations in every way. It is located at the top of this charming village and convenient to all of the sights. Our room was perfect, spotlessly clean and with a charming balcony overlooking the spectacular view. Included in the very reasonable rate was a lovely breakfast which you can have served on the rooftop terrace. We would love to return and spend more time in this breathtaking village. We will definitely stay here again when we do. Raquel Roldán, Director General at Hotel El Convento, responded to this review Thank you so much for your review, We are so glad that you decided to stay with us, and even more so reading that you enjoyed your stay so much. Best regards.

We stopped for a drink on the terrace and took in the fabulous view that this hotel provides. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We would love to stay there next visit. It was also very quiet and private. Very reasonably priced as well.
