Location

This complex is situated in the village of Casas Viejas Benalup in Costa de la Luz in the province of Cádiz. In the surrounding area guests will find several small whitewashed villages which are typical of this region and restaurants, shops and bars are all nearby, as are links to the public transport network (bus, 15 minutes' walk). The hotel is situated 20 minutes from the Atlantic beaches and 40 minutes from Jerez de la Frontera and Cádiz. Seville is an hour's drive and Jerez Airport is approximately 53 km away.

Facility

107 non-smoking rooms are available to guests in a 2-storey main building and 3 auxiliary buildings. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the garden view from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Meals

Dining facilities include a breakfast room and a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. Catering options include half board, full board and all-inclusive. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner. There are meals available for those with special dietary requirements: diet meals and children's meals. The hotel also offers special catering options. For guests, alcoholic beverages are included.

    An Andalucian gem

    Being asked to join a golfing group last minute.com for a very reasonable amount of money I anticipated a very basic accommodation and an average golf course and not much else! I never expected to be confronted upon arrival with an imposing and stunning hotel foyer that leads to a beautiful golf course with sweeping views of the Andalucian plains and hills in the far distance. In reception I was greeted by Callum who was a world class staff member who could not have been kinder or informative. All the staff members were very good and extremely helpful and welcoming. The hotel has an amazing spa (huge!) which took care of 4 days of arduous golf. The golf course was an absolute treat, wonderfully maintained and a decent challenge for even excellent golfers (of which sadly I’m not one!). The buffet in the evening was massive with a vast array of different options with some culinary treats and a LOT of superb meats/fish/salads etc etc and great desserts. It was really hard to believe that we were in the middle of nowhere! I will most certainly be back and soon!

    I stayed at this hotel with my husband. We were all inclusive and my husband played golf. The hotel staff were warm and friendly, the food was excellent. I enjoyed the spa steam room and the sauna. I would like to give this hotel a shout out because I am disabled. I was able to use my scooter to get around all of the hotel. I think it’s worth a mention, not all hotels can accommodate people like me. Such a welcoming hotel.     Super stay, amazing staff

    This was an amazing venue for a group womens' golf/pilates trip in March. The hotel and rooms were spotless, the location stunning, the food lovely and most of all the staff were just fabulous. The front desk staff and housekeepers were so nice, but a real shoutout goes to Nacho in the pro shop who went out in a buggy to look for a pair of expensive sunglasses I had dropped during my round. He found them and returned them - it was a real bonus. The 19th hole snack bar was great and really good value. I would not hesitate to return!     I stayed at Fairplay Golf & Spa Resort on 27 September expecting a relaxing five-star weekend, but the experience fell far short of what was advertised.Our room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke.The room did not match the one shown when we booked.We found two cockroaches in the room.The buffet (€28 per person) was poor in quality and variety.We were charged extra for spa use, which I would expect to be included in a five-star stay.Two power cuts occurred during our visit — one left us showering in the dark and another disrupted the spa time we paid for.We paid over €260 for one night and expected a much higher standard of comfort and service.I emailed the hotel twice (to reservas @ fairplayresort.es and marketing @ fairplayresort.es) but have received no response in over two weeks.Very disappointing overall, and I hope management addresses these issues so future guests don’t have the same experience.

    Not luxury, just a bluff

    It might have been once, but today FairPlay Resort & SPA does not live up to 5-star standards at all. The property itself is welcoming, but it completely lacks the attention to detail you would expect from a hotel of this category.The room was spacious, clean and in order, with a nice view, although clearly dated in style. The surrounding landscape is pleasant, but that’s about the only highlight.The real letdown was the staff: apart from the kind girl at reception, the others came across as incompetent, careless, and with an attitude of indifference towards guests. Truly disappointing.The worst part, however, was the food. We chose half-board because the resort is located in a remote village with no alternatives nearby, but the buffet service was simply unacceptable. Poor quality, unappetizing dishes, and so-called “fresh” fish left on display to be cooked but with a brownish color that said it all. In the end, the only safe choice was making ourselves a salad just to have something to eat.In summary: a location with potential, but service and dining are absolutely not up to standard. Definitely not worth the 5 stars it claims.
