I really liked this hotel! The views of the area are gorgeous, and it's not a far walk from downtown. The breakfast was really good. The pool was nice, but I wish you didn't have to pay more for the spa area. The room was spacious, clean, and had a nice view.

Dear Julia, We would like to thank you for this review about your recent experience in our hotel. We are delighted that you appreciated the scenic vistas, the proximity to Comillas' center, and our comprehensive morning meal offerings. It is wonderful to hear that you found comfort in our spacious and immaculate accommodations, all designed to enhance the guest experience.Nonetheless, we understand your concerns regarding the additional cost for the spa area. While our pool is available to all guests, we aim to provide a serene and exclusive atmosphere in our spa, which necessitates a separate fee. This ensures that we can maintain the highest standards of service for these specialized facilities. Finally, we are pleased that our pool facilities met your expectations and that you enjoyed the tranquil ambiance of our hotel. The picturesque setting of abba Comillas Hotel, combined with our dedication to guest satisfaction, makes for a truly memorable stay. The entire team really hope we can welcome you back on a future occasion. Kindest regards,Pablo Gómez, General Manager

Fantastic stop over
10 Oct 2024
What a pleasant stop over for the night while walking the Camino del Norte at Abba Comillas. The room was airy, comfortable, clean and had a beautiful and large balcony with fantastic views where we enjoyed chilled wine. We were there off season (most guests were actually pilgrims), so it was all quiet but the hotel clearly was understaffed. Excellent breakfast served in a bright dining room with sea views. Just a comment for management : private balconies are major assets to chill but why on earth having so uncomfortable furniture (esp. seating) ? By the way, Comillas is a thrilling stop on the Camino. The sea front offers great eating options for dinner (assume circa 30 min. walk from hotel).

Golf but no Ryder Cup
30 Sept 2023
Golf - but no Ryder CupWe were due to stay in this hotel for a golf break but our Agent moved us to a ‘boutique’ hotel closer to town. Being the Ryder Cup weekend and desperate to watch the final day we got a taxi to the Golf Hotel to watch the golf. When we arrived they didn’t have the golf on and the extremely unhelpful and rude waitress got the hand control to try and find a sports channel but didn’t try too hard! The receptionist was equally unhelpful so don’t book this hotel if you are under the impression that it’s for golfers / it isn’t!

Has Potential
29 Jun 2022
This hotel has so much potential.Great location. Nice ocean views from one side of the hotel- Mountain View’s from the other. It lacks a little love and attention.First off, if you are a spa person this is not the typical spa you might be expecting. The “spa” is basically a glassed off area on the other side of the indoor pool with mediocre sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Oh and you have to pay to use it. Kinda strange. You also need a swim cap.Fitness room, again, lots of potential! Huge room and plenty of equipment. Very dated though. I tried the rowing machine and the straps were broken and the machine was old, hard to use. They also have a sign that says to wipe down equipment. I found 2 spray bottles of something in the corner of the room with a used rag. Not exactly the ideal if they are worried about hygiene. The breakfast- lots of potential but lacking quality. The fruit table is wonderful and so is the coffee! However, there are no nice jams or homemade anything. There were scrambled eggs one morning and sunny side up eggs another but they were doused in oil. Plenty of cold cut meats and sliced cheese. The room- basic. Bed was comfortable. They don’t really use the outside terrace that has a lovely view. They could have breakfast tables set up out there with umbrellas and nice outdoor furniture to sit in and have a cocktail but it’s just empty space with some light square tables and chairs. (Missed opportunity).Could be fabulous if they had a great breakfast, made use of the terrace, updated the gym and did something with the “spa”, or simply don’t call it a spa. Decent 3 star hotel.
