  Good place but limited

  We are a family of 4, with 2 kids. Apartments are a bit limited, without some basic appliances, and only 1 room separated from main living room (where kitchen is also located). No air conditioned, which is basic in summer considering the high humidity of the area. Very well located with plenty of restaurants nearby, and shops. Ideal to visit santillana and sorroundings (caves, comillas, even Santander....).Parking available. Will recommend if you are not very strict, but explore other options first. Reception is very helpful and always provides best advice for visits or even to book tours (cuevas el soplao).

  Wonderful first night in Spain

  We arrived straight from the ferry and got a magnificent welcome from the staff. They really couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The room was big and clean and had everything that we could need. Location was perfect as it was just outside the old part of Santillana, within easy walking distance of the sites and restaurants.

  The hotel is at walking distance from the beautiful historical city centre of Santillana del Mar.We stayed in a 4 beds rooms and it was quite big. Our apartment provided also a small kitchen if you want (we didn't used it).Rooms are noisy (just if you have noisy neighbors as we unfortunately did). Reception was friendly.

  We stayed for two nights to see Santillana del Mar and the surrounding coastline. The room was clean but VERY basic. The kitchen area did not even provide a dishcloth or some washing up liquid and there was no point buying these supplies for only two nights. How about a little sachet instead of the shoe polish/sewing kits normally provided.WIFI - It said this was included but it was so unreliable as to be unusable. Apparently the police station next door blocks it to prevent ETA terrorists' activity. This was not an unusual occurrence so why advertise the service? PARKING - There are a few free parking spaces in the road in front of the block or you can pay 2 Euros/day in the public car park behind or 5 Euros/day under the building. However, be warned that Santillana del Mar is heaving during the day so parking is virtually impossible.NOISE - The rooms do not block out noise. Our son got very little sleep due to the loud Spaniards arriving back after their evening meal - they don't tend to eat until after 10pm so he was often awake until the early hours of the morning. These apartments are OK if you're on a budget but otherwise I wouldn't recommend them.
