    Really enjoyed our visit

    rating17 May 2026

Spent 2 nights there while touring Picos de Europa. Hotel very clean, room generous size with stunning view. Food high quality regional cuisine, portions over generous if anything. Staff as usual for Spain efficient but not over friendly. Walk to the cable car no more than 100 metres.

Great location and amenities - Needs a hot tub

    rating14 May 2026

Very warm welcome. We were even taken to our room and shown the functions inside. The room was lovely and warm, with a small, contained terrace, with a table and chairs, as well as some opening windows and a view of the mountains.Bathroom, whilst a bit dated, was impeccably clean, spacious and bright - very inviting.I've reviewed the restaurant separately. Breakfast was lovely with good supply of cold buffet items and hot to order - omelette and eggs etc.The staff were all very friendly and clearly proud to be working at the hotel.Location to the cable car is just a one minute walk.Overall, a very enjoyable stay.**Additional point**I must add a final comment, although hard to describe how this hotel has a foot in the past, with traditional 1970s decor and old fashioned methods, such as filling out cards by hand, mixed with modern ways, webcam of the summit, digitalised room cleaning trackers. It has the feel of the Shining, and yet, with this quirkiness, it has a unique charm. The average age of the clientel is probably in the 60s, and whilst thats fine, it needs an upgrade to it's amenities. Putting a hot tub at the back, under the foot of the mountains, would be an absolute boon. Replace some of the empty living rooms into a sauna or steam room, would be amazing, particularly in winter. Magnificent scenery!

    rating10 May 2026

One of the relatively modern Paradores, this place is situated right in the heart of The Picos de Europa. The surrounding countryside & views are absolutely magnificent! The teleferico is 200 metres away and takes you to an altitude of 1800 metres from where (on a clear day) the views are spectacular! We even saw buzzards & golden eagles! Good location, good food, poor service.

    rating21 Oct 2025

A parador set in a fantastic location in the Picos mountain rage. The rooms are large and comfortable and the cuisine is excellent but the service was below par. Our room was not ready for occupation, even although we arrive after 4.00 p.m. and the only time that we were allowed to have breakfast was 8,00 a.m. This was not, in itself a problem but one does like to have a choice. The service i the bar/cafeteria was somewhat slow. Maria Merino, Other at Parador de Fuente De, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed our location, rooms, and cuisine. We’re sorry for the inconvenience regarding your room, breakfast schedule, and bar service. Your comments help us improve, and we hope to welcome you again for a smoother stay.Kind regards

A scenic location in the mountains.

    rating16 Oct 2025

Paradors are generally of a very high standard and Fuente Dé is no exception. Very good service and food and a room with a view. Plenty of parking. Reasonable rates. Despite it being a very busy hotel the hotel the staff were very cheerful and welcoming. It's a very scenic location well worth the drive to get there. It seems very popular with British and American tourists as well as Spanish. It is a bit dated and the rooms are a bit tired but nothing that was too troubling to us. The only comment I would make for improvement is that better information and maps of the area should be provided. The map we got at reception was at too small a scale to be of any use so we had to wander around a bit to find a walking track. There is a cable car across the road that goes high into the mountains for those with a head for heights. That wasn't me though. Overall a great place to stay and we would love to go back sometime.
