    Family Holiday

    rating28 May 2026

We’ve just returned from a family holiday at Fergus Club Pineda Splash and overall we had a really lovely stay. As a family with young children, there were so many positives that made the holiday enjoyable and stress-free.The standout feature for us was honestly the lifeguards. They were some of the best we’ve ever experienced at a hotel. They were constantly aware of everything going on around the pool, incredibly attentive, and fantastic with the children. They interacted with them, played games, laughed and joked with them whilst still maintaining safety at all times. They even helped guests with umbrellas and had spare inflatables and floaties for children to use. They really helped create such a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere around the pools. The hotel itself has a fantastic selection of pools. There’s a splash park with slides, another children’s pool with smaller slides, an adults-style pool with jets, plus additional pools and hot tubs around the front of the hotel. Everything felt well spread out and never overly crowded. The pools were absolutely freezing during our stay at the end of May as they are freshwater pools, but most children didn’t seem to care at all! I imagine they’re much nicer during peak summer temperatures. One thing we really appreciated was the rule that sunbeds cannot be reserved before 10am when the pools officially open. It stopped the usual early morning rush and made things feel much fairer for everyone. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with basic toiletries provided and a really handy mini fridge. The beds were comfortable, although the mattress protectors felt slightly plasticky at times. Storage space could definitely be improved for families, as there wasn’t enough wardrobe space for four people’s clothes. We were on the fourth floor and found it relatively quiet, although the nearby park can stay noisy quite late into the evening, so if you have little ones I’d recommend bringing a white noise machine. We were lucky to be further away from the noise, but rooms closer to the park may find it quite loud. The restaurant staff were all incredibly friendly and worked very hard keeping tables cleared and clean. Food overall was good, especially lunch which we felt had the best variety and most options we’d personally eat. Breakfast was also good, although I was slightly heartbroken there were no hash browns all week! The entertainment team were lovely and the children enjoyed the mini disco, karaoke and especially the face painting, which was honestly brilliant quality. The queues for face painting were always long because they did such a good job. Evening entertainment overall was a little more limited than we expected, and seating fills up very quickly, so you need to arrive early if you want somewhere to sit.Check-in can take quite a while, especially if there’s a queue, as staff thoroughly explain the all-inclusive system and hotel rules. We had read reviews beforehand so were prepared for this. Rooms also aren’t ready until around 3pm, but there is luggage storage and showers opposite the luggage room which is really useful after an early flight. I’d definitely recommend packing swimwear and pool essentials in your hand luggage so you can start using the facilities straight away. The reusable cup system around the hotel was actually a really good idea. You do need to remember to bring your cups back with you, but it keeps the hotel so much cleaner with hardly any discarded cups left around the pool areas. The biggest downside for us was probably the bar situation. There is only one main bar and queues became very long on busy hot days. Having self-service soft drink stations would probably help reduce waiting times quite a lot. We also noticed another pool bar area but it didn’t appear to be open during our stay, so perhaps that operates during peak season.Another slight disappointment was that service from some staff occasionally felt more attentive when managers or supervisors were visibly present. We noticed standards and behaviour noticeably improve at times when staff appeared to know they were being watched. That said, many staff members genuinely were lovely and hardworking throughout our stay. One thing worth noting for non-smokers is that there do not appear to be designated non-smoking balcony areas or room blocks. Sitting on the balcony surrounded by cigarette smoke from neighbouring rooms wasn’t ideal for us personally.Overall though, we genuinely had a lovely family holiday here. The pools, lifeguards, cleanliness and family atmosphere really made the trip special, and our children had an amazing time. With a few small improvements, this hotel could easily be exceptional for families.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

    rating28 May 2026

AVOID!!! STOLEN ITEMS FROM ROOMS. RUDE STAFF RSPECIALLY CARMEM ON RECEPTION! DIRTY ROOMS AND NO SNACK BAR JUST LEFT OVER FOOD. QUEUE 30 MINUTES FOR 1 DRINK MAX PER PERSON. Unacceptable cleanliness. Had to queue at reception first day for 30 minutes for poo to be cleaned off toilet and top of toilet seat which was there on check in. There was also a clearly visible dirty towel. Each time queuing and reception for a long time to get the above problems resolved. Everyday so far we have been left with either 3 or 4 bath towels. There are 5 people in Our room so each day I’ve had to go to reception to ask for missing towels. One of the double beds had a plastic mattress cover which didn’t fit correctly so we couldn’t sleep due to the noise and heat. We removed the sheet and it was put back the next day. Another queue to reception I asked for it to get removed and a non plastic mattress cover he put in its place. We are left with just a sheet over the mattress. Food. There has been numerous times food has ran out in the restaurant! I have notified staff of this but they said it’s all gone and no more left. This morning there weren’t any tea bags or sugar or sweetners only 1 small pan au chovomste and no chocolate spread. I asked for more but was told all gone told sorry no more left. They completely ran out of desserts one night which did get replaced after me asking but this was the only time! They haven’t got any over cream toppings left and I was told they would get done for today but still none available. No straws left. We are staying all inclusive so should have snacks included. The only snacks there is is left over stale food in the main restaurant. Drinks we are again all inclusive and in evenings have to wait over 30 minutes in the bar for one small drink per person. Sometimes in the daytime it’s shorter waits and others the queue is just as long as in the evenings. There is only 1 bar. I understand it’s half term but the hotel should cater for the amount of food needed. Get more cleaners and more people behind the bar. Today there’s also a really bad smell coming from the toilets near reception it’s that bad you can smell it in reception before you walk into the toilets. I don’t know how jet 2 can sell holidays to this hotel it’s supposed to ge a 4 star hotel. The goods drinks and cleanliness are definitely not to a standard of a 4 star hotel! We’ve paid thousands of pounds to come here and have been more than disappointed. We have never been dissatisfied with any other jet 2 holiday we have booked in the past and we trusted that jet 2 holidays would only book adequate hotels. We have had to go out and buy good and drinks this morning and drinks in the evening as it’s too long to wait if they’ve run out! Not acceptable at all! In Friday 29th some Oreo biscuits were taken sling with our spare room key. I’m not sure if anything else was taken? I was basically called a liar by Carmen the manager and she said there were no cctv. Whilst at reception another jet 2 customer was there to report missing jeans. A bag was stolen from some other guests at the side of the pool. It’s not safe and very dirty here! Jet 2 weren’t any help!

An honest review - 2.5 stars.

    rating27 May 2026

Honest review. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. Although the hotel is kept clean, there are too many areas which let this hotel down. We have only been here just over 24 hours and we're already bored of the food - same dishes for lunch and dinner. Desserts are poor. Although the one drink per guest system works to keep the pool area free of empty glasses and saves waste, the queues for the drinks are ridiculous. It's as if the hotel do this on purpose to save money on AI guests so they don't consume as much. There are kettles in the rooms but no tea or coffee to make a drink - you'll need bring your own tea, coffee, sugar etc or purchase from the supermarket when you arrive. Rooms are small with no room to store suitcases and little space to hang clothes - we're a family of 3 so having to live out of our suitcases. Positives: The teens / games room. Staff are all friendly. The hotel is clean. The pools open at 10am and you're not allowed to reserve a sunbed before the pool opens which stops people reserving beds before sunrise. 5 min walk to the beach and train station. Would I come back to this hotel - highly unlikely. The food quality needs to improve and there should be more staff on the bar to reduce queues.

    Wouldn’t go back

    rating26 May 2026

After reading some bad reviews I thought i would still give this hotel a go. Personally I would not return to this hotel, area is not great for families not much for the children to do. The animation team is what makes this hotel, food wasn’t great so we ate out a lot of the time. Bar staff are lovely we tried spending as much time out of the hotel as possible. The beach was very gritty so I would take beach shoes if you’re coming here and the water gets deep very quick. Overall not a great a holiday, the queues for drinks didn’t bother us but they could do with another bar and a snack bar outside.

    A holiday of queuing

    rating26 May 2026

Back from a weeks stay. Initally very pleasant and enjoyable... then the queues began. So the positives- lovely clean room, cleaned daily, fresh towels. Comfy beds, good view from balcony. Staff friendly, always say hello and engage with the kids. Looks well maintained.Lifeguards very friendly! The negatives- 1 bar serves the entire hotel- there is a card system ( 1 drink per card, take glass back, get card back etc). The queuing began half way through the week, as the hotel got busier- sometimes a 30 minute wait for a drink ( I'm talking any drink, not just alcohol).Sun beds- not enough- often towels left for hours and noone using the beds! The food- 1 area- everyone queuing for food- food usually luke warm by time you have put your meal together. Food is also hit and miss (uncooked item ).Entertainment- evening entertainment is inside - there are not enough tables, so we never got to enjoy any!The queuing really spoilt the experience it felt like too many people were in the hotel and the hotel didn't seem big enough to manage them all.Pineda de Mar is a small place, but we filled the week easily- visiting Callela, Santa Susanna and the beach ( the beach is shale so take water shoes).
