Beautiful hotel in a beautiful people in a beautiful location!

    rating04 May 2026

We thoroughly enjoyed our six night stay in a corner suite at the Eetu. We had a furnished balcony with a view of the surrounding hills and forest with a slight view of the sea at the center of the horizon. Very pleasant. The room was spacious, in fact better than the in the photos, with a separate living room and bedroom. . The parking garage is adjacent to the lobby therefore very easy access to facilities and elevator. The team members were all helpful, friendly, and courteous. Location is out of town however very convenient if you have a car. Begur is an ideal base for exploring the Costa Brava. We were able to visit Figueres, Girona and several coastal towns. There are still many places we couldn’t see yet and hope to make a return visit in the near future. We would definitely choose to stay at the Eetu again. Thank you. Best Maitre D Jordi!!!

    rating20 Apr 2026

The hotel Eetu is a quiet little gem of a hotel , 3 minute walk to a pebble beach and not too far from the gorgeous Aiguablava beach. We didn’t hire a car but hired bikes from the Aiguablava hotel just down the hill from the Eetu. We found the cycling to be safe and got to see all the beautiful coves along the coast as well as the village of Pals in the hills which is worth a visit. It’s very off the beaten track but the hotel organised a taxi to Begur and Parafrugell for us.The room we had was 414, we had a very small balcony with a nice view. Rooms need updating but I believe the hotel is undergoing renovations soon.We stayed half board, breakfast was adequate, possible could be a little better but the evening meal was delicious..not buffet style, ordered from a menu with a choice of some tapas also.We had the pool area to ourselves on most occasions. The highlight for us was the staff, in particular George (Jordi) who was so friendly and courteous. He found out our names and couldn’t have been better at service, hospitality and friendliness . What a fantastic maitre d. He was very informative about the area and couldn’t do enough to make our stay pleasant. Thanks to Jordi!! Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Eetu Begur, Affiliated by Melia, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to send us your rating. We are delighted you enjoyed the serene atmosphere of our hotel and its proximity to scenic beaches and coves, and that you found cycling along the coast both safe and enjoyable. We are always happy to help guests explore the area and are glad you appreciated our assistance with taxis for your visits to Begur and Parafrugell. It is great to know that you enjoyed your room’s balcony and view, had relaxing moments at our pool, and found the evening meal in our restaurant to your liking. Thank you for highlighting the friendliness and dedication of our team, as your satisfaction is our motivation. We acknowledge your comment regarding the need for room updates and appreciate your understanding about the planned renovations. We are sorry that breakfast did not fully meet your expectations, though we are pleased it was satisfactory overall. Most enjoyable week spent at Hotel Eetu. We were particularly impressed with several staff members, namely Judith and Mabel (management/reception) and Joreen and Alina in the restaurant. Changing but still wonderful....

    rating04 Aug 2025

Obviously many changes have come, and are coming, but this is still a great place to visit. Still great breakfasts and meals, rooms and communal areas still very clean. Judit Parrer, the Manager, and her team are doing a great job keeping service levels high. Mabel's smile on the front desk makes everyone happy. Jose in the restaurant is still his cheerful self. The incoming Summum team are working to get ready for the rebuild project over the winter. Three generations of our family have come to this hotel - back from Bonaigua Hotel days, and Hotel Eetu, and now, as it becomes a Melia - we like the location, the hotel and also the people very much. Hopefully, we look forward to coming next year! Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Eetu Begur, Affiliated by Melia, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for positively reviewing your visit. We are touched that three generations of your family have chosen our hotel as their preferred destination - from Bonaigua days through to our current evolution. Shockingly poor customer service, outdated decor with chipping furniture. NOT luxury.

    rating10 Oct 2024

Please allow me to spare you the terrible disappointment that this hotel will undoubtedly instill in you. This can ruin your trip, due to terrible customer service and entirely outdated and in terrible condition rooms and decor. I fell for the seemingly high star rating, promise of luxury, fantastic views, and desire for peace and quiet. I got none of it. We were just stopping for one night when making our way down the coast from visiting the Dali museum. We arrived late, at 8pm. It is now off season, so it was pretty empty, yet the price was way higher than anything else in the vicinity, I stupidly thought it meant this hotel offered better service. The man at the front desk checked us in while snootily boasting about their area and calling everything else in Costa Brava crap in comparison. This couldn't be further from the truth. We later went down to Tossa de Mar, which was way more beautiful and had more to do. This is near Begur, but it's not in the center, and it's a 5 minute walk to a tiny beach. There are no restaurants and nothing to do right near the hotel, if you want food or anything else, you'd have to drive into town. Though the hotel offers breakfast in the price, I would never eat here due to our experience with their "coffee". The decor of the hotel is gaudy early 90's meets 2000s edgy cool with zero style sensibility and understanding of what goes and what doesn't. They even threw in some shaker and Mediterranean furniture. The room had popcorn walls! The furniture was formica that was chipping in many places and oooold. The lighting in the room made it feel like a hospital or an insane asylum. The pillows felt like folded up clothing. They put us into the last corner room on the first floor by the road with early morning construction and a demolition of an old building next door. I paid for a sea view and got a glimpse of it through the tree. We missed breakfast in the morning by about 15 minutes. When we were checking out I asked the woman at the front desk if we could get some coffee. She told me we just missed breakfast but she went to the bar and asked the woman cleaning up to make us 2 espressos. I thought it was kind of her, until.... The espressos came out of an automatic McDonald's looking machine. They were pale with white "crema" on top, they tasted like water. I couldn't even drink it. I came back to the front desk to continue checking it at which point the woman said "so, you paid for the room, you just owe city tax and 2 espressos for $4 euros each". I said "excuse me? Did you just charge me for those 2 espressos that I thought were free?" She said "of course, you missed included breakfast, so I had to serve you and for that you have to pay." I said "usually coffee is included in every hotel, there was no coffee maker in the room, so shouldn't you give us some coffee on the house?" She said "that's not usual in Spain to give free coffee in the room." What?? At this point I got so angry, I couldn't believe this woman and her rudeness and audacity and lack of hospitality and customer service. We've been in multiple hotels on our trip in Spain and had a nespresso in every room we stayed, even a cheap hotel we stayed in had a coffee maker. But this "luxury" hotel couldn't even offer us free coffee. Not only that, but she didn't even warn us that the gross coffee she was about to make us would cost us 8 Euros! Not even a warning. We paid for the coffee and left, both with terrible feeling about the whole experience. This woman should never ever be in customer service. And this hotel needs a major decor and facility update.
