Location

This hotel is located in a spectacular setting. The story of this convent begins in the 15th century, when a huge storm forced an Italian boat onto the shores of Sa Riera. Sailors who survived the incident celebrated their good fortune by founding a chapel near a medicinal spring in the nearby forest. It is a location rich in history, with tales of mysterious hermits, pirates and religious orders. The open sea and the Cala Sa Riera beach are both about 500 m from the hotel, guests will reach the nearest shops, links to the public transport network, and the centre of Begur with its restaurants, bars, and nightclubs in approximately 800 m.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1730. 25 rooms, including 2 suites, single rooms and 22 double rooms, are available. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the garden view from a balcony or terrace. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym and aerobics. Various wellness options are available at the hotel, including a spa, a sauna, massage treatments and a solarium.

Various dining options are available, including a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. A non-smoking restaurant with air conditioning, high chairs and a separate area for smokers is available to guests. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner.

    Nice experience but can be improved

    Beautiful site, comfortable bungalows, overall nice experience. It would have been great to have some service at the pool for drinks and such. The staff in the restaurant at night are dry and not welcoming. I’m not sure if it was because they were overworked but even though a customer is a customer and you should always welcome them and if you cannot service them you at least still draw a smile and apologize. The driver of the hotel who took us to the beach was the kindest staff member.     Great building, breakfast could be improved

    Gorgeous building and gardens, lovely pool area. Lovely welcome at check-in. We had a basic double room as all that was available. Comfortable but worth paying a little more for a larger space and larger bathroom. Really enjoyed the garden and pool area for relaxing. Only 2km from Begur but taxis charge 15 – 20 euro for the journey. Breakfast could be improved. Poor selection of fruit and pastries and coffee not very pleasant (I’m wondering if they were using cheap coffee in the machines which as far as I recollect were a well known brand).     Beautiful & calm Hotel

    The old monastery is a beautiful location for a hotel. The garden with the pool as well as the terrace for the breakfast are gorgeous. The rooms have a nice size, but could need a little bit of updates - The door was partly falling apart, as well as the bathroom table. Everything else was great – that’s why I give 4 out of 5 points.     Beautiful and quiet place in Bergur

    We stayed at this lovely hotel with our baby for a weekend in July. It is a quiet and wonderful place, good for relaxing and if you don’t want to be in a crowded place right next to the beach. We had a great separate suite in the gardens with lots of space and close proximity to the pool. Thepool was also nice and even offered some spots with shade, which was nice as well.You can reach a nearby beach by foot (estimated 15 minutes) but there are also many other wonderful options if you have a car. Some of the beaches were quite crowded on the weekend but I expect it to be better out of season or during the week. We went in the evening and found it worked well.The staff were very welcoming, forthcoming and great with the baby. We ate at the wonderful restaurant two nights in the row and had some fantastic grilled fish.Would recommend to families or anyone seeking a more quiet place away from the masses.     We loved this hotel, it's got character, it's comfortable and fabulous lush green setting, very nice staff and good breakfast. Easy and nice stroll down to the beach.
